Excellent location, walking distance to all sights or access to Prague’s excellent and cheap transport system. We spent very little time in the hotel, we did however make use of the comfortable seating area with drinks and light snacks available at a realistic price. Breakfast was adequate, it does however become busy from 8:30 onwards often meaning you could wait for a table and it was clear the staff had to work hard to maintain the food and drinks supply at times. On all days it was noted they had run out of certain foods and there was often a lack of cups and glasses. There was a small selection of hot foods, 4 items on each day, there would be a variation of sausage and baked beans. Lovely selection of bread, rolls, pastry and cakes. Two meats and two sliced cheeses, selection of cereals and bananas, orange and yogurts. I didn’t find the environment relaxing where you could sit and enjoy, it more felt like conveyer belt. It was also noisy. Now on to the bedroom. ...... The room was adequate in size with good storage. The bed however was a significant problems for me. When retiring on the first evening I fell into the space on the mattress, I am not kidding - see photos. The mattress had collapsed. Reported to reception and the lovely lady, gave us another room on the first floor, for that night with the problem to be resolved the following day. We had decided we did not want to change rooms, we were on the second floor it was quieter and we had by now unpacked, we were there for 4 days with a lot to do and really didn’t want to waste time packing and unpacking. In addition it was clear there had been smokers in the 1st floor room. On returning from breakfast we find they had put a thin mattress topper on top of the existing collapsed mattress. I was lost for words, as soon as you sat on the mattress the problem was still there. I again reported this to the housekeeping staff and demonstrated to her this remained unsatisfactory and then to the reception. On our return from the day out they had replaced the mattress. Not what you would expect for a 4 star accommodation. When reporting it the second time I found the male staff member to have a couldn’t care less attitude and this was reinforced when I voiced my complaint on finding the topper. No apologies though he did report had inspected the mattress, he replied he thought they would try it and see what I thought of that! The room was cleaned daily to a good standard. Overall opinion, this is most defiantly far from a 4 Star hotel, the rooms were tired and dated, lacked any comfort or warmth , no soft seating in the rooms. There were basic toiletries, tea making facilities where you were issued with one tea bag per day, 2 sugars and no milk. No iron and a tv with no British channels, not that that bothered us. In addition to a wardrobe corner joint coming apart, cracked bidet, draughty Windows, worn dressing table top and central light not working, though in their defence we did not report these. Our view was of graffiti walls to a run down apartment block though again I didn’t go to window watch. However it was centrally located. They do also store your baggage to be collected nearer your flight time and check out is 12 oclock. Would I stay here again, No, we paid for bed and breakfast both were lacking and I’m confident for the price we paid we could have had superior surroundings. Collapse

Beseda is in the center of most things you would want to see. Its very clean and staff are nice , helpful and friendly. There are no views from the windows but that did not matter to me. I live in Edinburgh and I know to have a view out of your window in a hotel you are looking at paying at least 6/7 times the price you would pay at Beseda. Good standard Hotel. Collapse

Great location on fairly quiet street a minute away from shopping streets, restaurants cafes and all the transport links you could want.... clean rooms with everything you could need for a long weekend. Good beds, well fitted bathroom, fridge, tea making facilities. Breakfast was nice - wonderful fresh bread and pastries, couldn't stop eating them... along with cold meats, some hot options, fruit, juices, Dowe Egbert coffee. I honestly can't think of any criticisms. If every city hotel I have stayed in was as good as this for the money spent, I would be a very contented traveller! Collapse
