We have spent here 7 days in May 2017. We are leaving tomorrow morning, very warm feelings about the hotel. This is our 4th visit, and definitely not the last one. This hotel is 100% childrens friendly and very very safe. Staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful, all of them, reception, cleaning, both bars, restaurant, kids club. I would like to say huge thanks to entertainment team: Raquel, Fatima, Vero, Patrice, Mario, Daniel. Kids had amazing time. Kids club is open from 10.30am to 11.30pm. There is so much to do for children of any age. It has a large indoor playing area as well as outside one with trampolines, slides and scooters. Inside there are play houses, toy kitchens, climbing frame, slide, balls pool and so much more. Moreover, the entertainers have a personal touch to every child, and actually sit down and play with them. Our kids aged 4 to 10 all loved it. There is a mini golf area, also a football pitch. Every day at 3pm Daniel calls all the children to play a match. There are two swimming pools outside and one inside. The inside one is heated. There are also jacuzzi and two saunas, steamed and dry one. The tiles around outdoor swimming pool are wooden - so safe for children. The safeguard is doing a great job. My little one slipped once and the very next moment he was picked up and comforted. There are almost no queues in this hotel, there is always a free sunbed right beside the swimming pool. I don't know how this is possible considering that the hotel is fully booked most days. I believe they are very efficient at what they are doing. Mini disco is a great hit. Benny the tiger comes every night to give "hi five" and take pictures with children. My youngest loved this so much and could not wait for another evening so he could give Benny another hug. The shows every night are great. Parrots, Flamenco, Magic Show, Eagles, Snakes, live singers and dancers. The guys in Benny's bar are so friendly and so efficient. And so helpful with exchanging coins for the kids games room. In the downstairs bar they were very good too, especially girl named Laura. Location of the hotel is so perfect. Some people are complaining about the steep hill. But it is really a 1 minute walk. Well worth it and a bit of excercise too. Once you are down the hill, you are near to absolutely everything. The beach is across the road. A supermarket is in 2 minutes walk. Selwo Marina - 15 minutes walk. There is also a regular free shuttle bus that will bring you as far as as the windmill roundabout. Alltogether, it has been another wonderful holiday, thanks to all hard working and extremely friendly and helpful staff at Benalmadena Palace. Collapse

I'll start with the positives: • Apartments are good for families as there is a separate lounge area and kitchenette • we traveled with a 1 year old and were provided with a wooden crib in the room which a was a nice surprise as we were expecting a travel cot • generally the hotel is quite clean • staff were friendly • wifi was free Despite the positives there are quite a lot of buts, which in our view overshadow the positives. We were disappointed with a few things and surprised given all the very glowing reviews. Major negatives were: • the food was not what you would expect in a 4 star hotel. The breakfast buffet was nice, however the choices and quality of food for lunch and dinner were poor at best. There's hardly any choice for vegetarians (despite there being a vegetarian buffet mostly made up of vegetables), and the kids buffet was also disappointing. We struggled to put a meal together most evenings. The choice is limited for lunch and food in the snack bar is similar or the same as to what's available in the restaurant. Pasta is over cooked with only what can be described as tomato soup slopped over the top. Pizzas were not fresh, seemed frozen. Drinks on all inclusive were cheap options a lot of branded items not available on all inclusive. Overall we regret going all inclusive as there were far nicer places to eat outside the hotel. • there's no porter to help you with luggage when you arrive. For a family friendly hotel this was a surprise. We had to struggle with 3 suitcases, a car seat, pushchair and our 2 children to reception ourselves and then to the 6th floor. • although the hotel is clean apartments are not cleaned daily. During our 5 night stay ours was cleaned once. On other occasions we were handed a note stating the maid would only be changing the bins and making the beds. Again not what you would expect in a 4 star hotel. We had a crawling 1 year old so most days I had to sweep the floor myself. • do not expect anything in the room to be replenished, including basic things in the bathroom and tea and coffee, apparently you just get this once on arrival. • the kids pool is very small which wasn't so much an issue for us as we weren't travelling at peak time but can imagine it would be very overcrowded in season. • if you have young children dinner and children's entertainment is likely to be too late. Dinner service starts at 7 which meant our 1 year old was crabby and our 3 year old actually fell asleep at the table once. • bring your own towels unless you want to pay a 10 euro deposit for each towel you borrow Generally I don't write reviews but we're so surprised at all the fabulous reviews (which we booked on the basis of) that we felt the need to write a honest review. Hopefully this is constructive for those looking to book, particularly families with young children. Collapse

First time 4*.Lovely hotel.staff right down to housekeeping and poolguard always polite and attendive and very helpful.Rooms emmaculate and the towel formed into a swan a very nice touch.Room size was quite addiquite and we had a great view overlooking the out door pools.Don,t be put off by people saying it is at the top of a steep hill,my wife uses a stroller and if she can do it anyone can.The only negative thing I can say is that the outdoor pools could not be used after 6o,clock even though there were still some hours of sunshine left. All in all I would have no hesitation returning to this hotel. Lovely hotel, nice spacious room, great food. Nice pool area with plenty of space when we visited in may. People actually only put towels on the beds when they are being used meaning everyone can get beds when they want them. Definitely a four star hotel. Only downside is the lifeguards need to chill out a bit. Fair enough no inflatables in the pool and telling the kids not to run ... but no diving ? Come on, people just dropping into the pool rather than using the stairs were being told off. Caused quite an unsavoury atmosphere at times. Collapse

Just returned back from a one week stay at this hotel. We have three children, two boys aged 9 and 7 and a little girl aged 2. This hotel is amazing for small kids. The staff at this hotel are amazing. So friendly and could not be more helpful. They make this hotel one of a kind. Nightly kids entertainment was such fun. Kids club around all day. Indoor play area and play room was a life saver on the warm days. Indoor pool was great and so clean. I have to mention Dany and Patrice. They are just so nice. They made contact with our kids every day. Knew their names on the first day. These two guys are a real credit to this hotel. Arranged a soccer tournament each day for the boys and involved everyone in the evening entertainment. Will for sure return again. We went all inclusive and the food was lovely. New menu each evening. Breakfast buffet had a huge choice to choose from. Rooms were a little small but that is from a family of five in a one bedded apartment. Nice and clean though. No noise around hotel at night. Kids slept great. Could not fault this hotel one bit. Again thank you Dany and Patrice for a lovely time :-) Collapse
