My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights in July. The location was great, within a few minutes walk from 2 metro stations. Our room (no.14) was a twin room on the 1st floor with a bathtub. It was small but comfortable and clean with AC (could do with a couple more power sockets but I had luckily brought my own adapter). Our room faced onto the road so was a little noisy but this didn't bother us at all so maybe ask for a room at the back/courtyard if some traffic noise bothers you. The Breakfast was included in the rate we paid and it was delicious/really fresh and we were so grateful for it each morning with unlimited tea/coffee/juices/cereals/toast/yoghurt/pastries/cold meat/cheeses. The staff were really friendly and always around to help. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Paris. Collapse

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights, booked through Expedia on a very good deal. The hotel is located in a good position with two Metro stations nearby and easy walking distance to Notre Dame and the Louvre through the Marais area. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. The room was small (this was expected) and clean and tidy - but the shower was tiny (if you drop the shower gel you'll have to get out to recover it - and some people I know wouldn't fit at all!). But the room was kept clean and we weren't planning to spend a lot of time in there anyway. There is a lift available, but this only just fits two people (without luggage) so it's snug to say the least - but it does save walking up the steep stairs. Breakfast was a delight - some people had recommended not having it in the hotel, but the selection of croissants, rolls, meat, cheeses, fresh fruit, juices, yogurts etc. made it a nice way to wake up and set yourself up for the day. All in all a pleasant stay. Collapse
Decent Almost-Budget Hotel near Le Marais

I say "almost-budget" because even though Paris is expensive, this hotel isn't that cheap. But it definitely has a "budget" feel. The hotel is cute, clean, and well-located. The neighborhood is quiet and without the tourist rush, but within a quick Metro ride to all the attractions. There are 3 Metro entries near the hotel: Oberkampf; Filles du Calvaire; and Saint-Sebastien - Froissart. Italian Style Cafe is a couple blocks away from the hotel on the corner of Rue Amelot/Rue Saint-Sebastien. The food was delicious. There is also a large grocery/market about 1/2 block away. The hotel itself is ok. My room was tiny, tiny and the bathroom was even tinier. The shower was a step-up platform shower that I couldn't even turn around in, let alone bend over. Impossible to shave your legs or heaven forbid you drop your soap. You literally have to get out of the shower to pick it up. The shower, I felt, was not safe. The tile was black and the curtain dark brown. You can't see anything when you are in there. Also, the bare water pipes are just bolted to the wall. I scalded my hand more than once. And trying to step down from a wet shower floor to the bathroom floor (about 10 inches) without any handles is seriously difficult. I began to dread getting in there. The WiFi worked well everywhere I was in the hotel, as did the A/C. But it got really cold and rainy one night and I could not get any heat no matter what I did. The single room I was in had a nice suitcase suitcase platform, small closet (but not enough hangers) and hooks on the bedroom and bathroom walls. (Although the hooks in the bathroom were falling out of the wall as they did not use cement anchors.) Hotel information says there is a safe in each room. I looked everywhere and I couldn't find it. ???? There was ONLY ONE PLUG in the entire room/bathroom. ONE PLUG. And it had a lamp plugged into it. Made charging multiple devices impossible. It is the digital age. I would suggest they supply an extender for the one plug or attempt to add more outlets. The bed was clean and comfortable, even though I only had a single. I didn't really notice or feel uncomfortable. The breakfast offered was pretty good but I felt €12 was a bit much. I guess if you are really hungry and want full breakfast everyday, that would be ok. But some mornings I just wanted juice and a croissant. But they do offer fresh croissant, coffee, juice, milk, cereal, fruit, eggs to boil, yogurt, a few meats/cheeses. There is a tiny, tiny lift. One person and one suitcase can barely fit, but very welcome to avoid the narrow winding staircase with luggage. Collapse
