Just come back from another ten days at the Beatriz as usual had a fabulous time We had one of the updated rooms which was lovely cleaned every day the hotel was spotless, the staff in the restaurant, bars, reception , cleaning staff are lovely nothing is too much trouble. If you are not happy with anything just ask and they will sort it out for you This is the 7th time we have stayed at this hotel There is a wide variety of food in the restaurant even the fussiest eater should find something they like, there is also a burger bar an Italian restaurant, and a Chinese restaurant to choose from You can just chill out at this hotel nobody bothers you excellent location right next to the beach and just down the road some nice bars and restaurants There is an entertainment room downstairs , entertainment for the children early on and then later on something for the adults sometimes ok it depends what you like oh and i forgot to mention Tapi all the children like Tapi Oh forgot to mention there is some aircraft noise as hotel quite close to airport but you dont notice it after a while Will be back next year Collapse

Just returned from a holiday at this hotel, not great at all, read the reviews before I went, but decided to make my own opinion, but the reviews were spot on. On arrival reception was very cool and unwelcoming no welcome drink, check in was quick, no information on where anything was just told room number....room was OK accept down in the dungeons as we named it. The list goes on food was cold and bland not much variety even the drinks were watered down. The pool area was not big enough for the hotel, I never saw it cleaned the whole time I was there, drinks at the pool bar were weak or diluted down again, the bar wouldn't give you a bottle of water just a cup!! Could go on but just want to forget it. Even on checking out the reception staff just took the cards off you and didn't ask how the stay was...not great customer service for front of house. If the weather hadn't been as good as it was I would have come home the 2nd day..... The hotel needs to look at its reviews a lot are saying the same things. Collapse

This is a strange review to write as I wont know until the end whether it is good or bad as we had a really good holiday but maybe almost despite the hotel rather than because of it. Read on for an honest review warts and all! Firstly let's cover the normal negatives - planes are constantly going past..... and? If you let it bother you it will but in reality it doesn't really matter they pass the hotel rather than fly over it and yes they're a bit noisy but it became a challenge to decide which airline would be next. The food - yes it's pretty rank - isn't all inclusive food always like that - that's why the holiday works out cheaper, a typical serve yourself restaurant - evening meals were typically cheap cuts of fatty meat and things in unrecognisable sauces which half the time was cold anyway. Let's face it you know before you go in there it's impossible to create a restaurant quality plate of food! The biggest disappointment was the Italian a la Carte - it is open for 2 nights per week and you need to prebook, we looked forward to going into more of a restaurant situation where we would be served drinks and choose food from a menu that would be brought to the table - this has always been the case in other hotels we've been to but what do you get here? Another buffet! By far the best meal of the day is lunch which you could eat in the pool bar restaurant - it just seemed better managed (probably because less people were eating) The evening entertainment - well unless you have young children and an obsession with holiday camps forget it! The shows are awful and there is nowhere open for all inclusive drinkers except the "showbar" from 7pm-12pm, the only other alternative is the piano bar where you will pay - so if you fancy sitting and having a chat and maybe a game of cards forget it! Most nights we went out ad came back for the last hour of service and one thing we did appreciate was that you could get pints of beer on all inclusive and not just halves at night. The daytime we spent around the two pools and as other reviewers have said there are nearly always sunbeds available - what they don't say is the ones that are available will spend most of the day in the shade - people do get up and reserve sunbeds, most of the poolbar side ones were gone by 8am. The pool area is huge with two large pools and a paddling pool and the cleaning staff are constantly scrubbing around the beds. the pools are also thoroughly cleaned every morning with the staff spending a good 2 hours on them before they open at 10am. In terms of day time animation there are just two activities each side of lunch, the first one being an exercise - much less activity than I have experienced previously. And for such a large pool area there is just one speaker - no doubt if you are nearby it's loud but in our first week we were grateful to the guy who always chose a sunbed in a similar area to our own and brought his own music down. What I did find stunning is the animation team all get the same day off - on a Sunday there is not even music played around the pool - you just get silence (other than the planes of course). The best time around the pool was undoubtedly Monday lunchtime when the evening musicians set up pool side to give an hour or so of live music - they should do this at least once more each week - it certainly builds a holiday atmosphere. I have no complaints about our room which was certainly of a good size. If you don't get hung up about the airport the hotel is in a lovely location - there is a beautiful promenade just outside which runs the length of the sandy beach. Less than 5 minutes along the prom there is the square with a number of bars and restaurants - Deserving a mention are the Irish "Auld Triangle" serving great food and showing live sport and the Ocean Bar offering stunning views off the bay and a large beer for only 1.5 Euro. We also ate twice in the Chinese restaurant in the square and carry on along the prom for about 40 minutes and you'll reach Peurto and all it has to offer. So in summary - a hotel in a great location with a nice pool for the long hot days but we chose to eat out 10 nights out of 14 because if we'd have eaten typical self inclusive buffet food and sat through any more of the awful entertainment we'd have been ready to return home in days. Would I go back - absolutely but I would make sure I had enough holiday money for regular nights out - is it for you? well it depends on your expectations - if you're happy eating cheap food and spending your evenings in a holiday camp go for it, if you'd rather have a nice meal and a night out of your choice then it can still be great but take plenty of money Collapse
