breakfast was awful, cold beans served 10 mins after I asked for then. Rooms were comfortable but dated. The pool was nice, small but not too busy. The staff were helpful but the hotel is nothing special and the breakfast was a big disappointment

Visited here to celebrate our wedding anniversary . On arrival we were met by a lovely courteous reception staff.Having went upstairs to our room we found the card to open door did not open it so I had to return to reception to get them to reactivate the card . The room was lovely clean and beautiful view out over golf course .Breakfast was lovely with a great selection of food and staff here were very friendly and courteous and helpful. But alas on returning to the room the card for door did not work so had to go to reception again to get it working. Also when I booked I was to get a free drink on arrival which I did not receive but I went to reception on my second night there and enquired about it and she gave me the voucher then . While there I also went to the spa for a hot stone back massage which I would highly recommend staff excellent here also .Swimming pool sauna and steam room lovely. Bar food is also lovely with a good selection and excellent staff Collapse

The staff were helpful - no complaints. The self-catering lodge we booked, while spacious and well designed, was, as others have pointed out, badly in need of some tlc. The walls were marked, carpets not particularly clean, sofas dirty, curtains either not hanging properly (sitting room) or not fitting (bedroom) or non-existent (between bedroom and bathroom), the 'bath' option on the tap and shower fitting didn't work, the floor flooded when using the shower, the toilet seat wobbled alarmingly, fittings had been removed and holes not filled, a bedroom florescent ceiling light flashed continuously, a light fitting was skewed ... The kitchen had neither toaster nor microwave and what seemed to be a pretty random collection of equipment. Such a pity, because all of these things could be sorted out with a little cash and, more importantly, caring and careful management. The rate was not cheap, but would have been reasonable for the space if the quality had been up to standard. And, by the way, there's no Wifi in the self-catering lodges. These days that's inexcusable for the price charged. Collapse
Neglected, ancient, dirty

I wish I could've left a positive review for this hotel because it had seemed so promising. But upon arrival, I quickly realised it wasn't. Stayed here just 1 night, and already I found the place very disappointing. Had I stayed longer, I believe I would've discovered more undesirable aspects of this hotel. I was given a room on the ground floor, with windows facing the golf course. When I first entered the room, I thought it was lovely. But that was just the first look. As I settled in, I realised this hotel is really not that lovely at all. Sure, the large windows provided alot of natural light into the room and a nice view of the golf course. But that also meant that the golfers kept walking by your window all the time. If you kept the curtains drawn for privacy, then there goes any natural light you were hoping for. Which then defeats the purpose of the large windows really. I also the noted the cleanliness -- or lack thereof -- of the room. The handles to open the windows are old and feels like there's a layer of silt over it. And when I happened to glance down, I saw more than one cobweb at the corner of the window -- on the inside of it! I don't even want to think about how long Mr Spidey has been staying there in the room and not been disturbed by the housekeeping crew. And then there's the TV, which I personally find a classic favourite. I have no problems with it not being a flat-screen TV. But it's so outdated, I actually had to press this button on the TV itself, before it even switches on and I can use the remote! I seriously didn't think I was ever going to see such a TV in my life again. It's completely out of my childhood, from decades ago. Room aside, the food from the restaurant wasn't fantastic either. It was, at best, edible, with haphazard plating and presentation. Feels as though the chef can't be bothered. I'm not a golfer, so I can't comment on the golf course itself. But unless your primary concern is just the golf, I don't see why anyone should even consider this as a place to stay for non-golf-related, relaxation purposes. Collapse
