Just got back from a week staying at the Bahia del Sol hotel and I can honestly say we had a fantastic time. The staff were brilliant , the room was perfect ,the pool and surrounded area was fab and the entertainment team were brilliant and kept the kids happy and busy throughout the day and night. I would definitely go back to this Hotel and would recommend it to my friends and family . Thankyou to all the staff for making our first holiday abroad a magical one. Collapse

Comunal areas such as the restaurant, bar, 5th floor sun terrace & pools were lovely, the rooms however were very dated looking, probably the worst I've seen in 4 star accommodation. We affectionately referred to ours as Alcatraz!! There were a couple of small beetles scurrying about the bathroom when we arrived - having said that they didn't bother us much. The room we were allocated was on the 5th floor had a view of a concrete wall which was 3 feet away from our balcony, that was all we could see!! When we asked to swap we received a very abrupt "full" from the sour faced receptionist, despite the fact that it was still possible to book a hotel room for the same duration online!!! I didnt like the breakfast very much, but there was a lot to choose from & it may just be my personal taste. There are not enough sun beds around the pools for the amount of people staying in the hotel, no where near it. The second pool is lovely & was very quiet when we were there but we struggled to find it initially & I suspect that's why it was so quiet. There is a distinct lack of signs pointing to where certain facilities are in the hotel & u get no guidance when checking in. The rooftop bar terrace on the 6th floor has stunning views but at a very over-priced 14 euros for 2 drinks we didn't return. All in all the hotel was ok, however I have been to much nicer 4 star hotels. I doubt we will be returning. Collapse

I lived and worked in Santa ponsa last year and always loved the look of this hotel, so booked a short stay here while visiting friends as new it was in a great location! I was really worried after reading the negative reviews on trip advisor! And unfortunately did experience one negative.. We were checked in by Monika, who refused to listen to us when we had said we had already paid for the reservation through booking.com, she kept saying "no,no you have not" every time we tried to speak (I even had a booking.com receipt saying paid in red) without looking in to the matter she continued to put the unauthorised transaction through using the card details she had of ours from our online reservation! We even had our bank statements up on our phones to prove, but no she still continued.. so we were charged twice for the reservation! Thankfully the manager (I think it was) over heard the argument And actually took the time to listen and resolved it straight away and arranged for a refund with booking.com! All in all the worst customer service I have ever experienced from Monika and not a great start to our weekend! On a positive side, the hotel was clean, rooms spacious and pool area clean, roof top bar is really cool however you can't buy beer, thought they may at least do bottled beers?! The breakfast buffet was great, really nice selection and the front of house staff were friendly and prompt! Wish we could have stayed longer! The hotel is in a great location, would say it is better for couples as not a lot going on for families, not much entertainment and bar does close early. All in all, minus the bad experience at the start, a great stay! Collapse

When we arrived at reception there was a strong smell of sewage! When we got to our room we noticed the air condition wasn't working at all. We we spoke to reception the woman (Monika I think) just stared at me and wasn't helpful at all! We stayed for 5 days and it was 38-40 degrees everyday! It was impossible to get to sleep at night and with two children (5&8) it was a nightmare! We asked about getting the air con fixed on the first day but it took two days for their 'engineer's' to have a look, just for them to say it can't be fix! They offered us another room but on inspection the air con didn't work in that room either. We found the pool is to small for the hotel and you have to get up at 6am to get a sun bed! We couldn't get a bed for our entire stay so this resulted in us leaving the hotel every morning which defeats the object of being 'all inclusive'. The evening buffet food was ok but more suitable to for German guests. By the time we'd queued up for our food it had all gone cold! We didn't stay in the hotel for the evening entertainment but we heard It was shocking from the few English guest that were there! I can honestly say that we've stayed in better 2* hotels in Spain! Find it hard to believe that people return to this hotel year after year! Collapse

Staying here just now on an all inclusive basis and I must say I've stayed in better three star hotels . Good points , good quiet location with a nice pool , friendly staff . Bad points , very poor quality and limited selection of food within the restaurant, 'snacks' through the day consists of bowls of olives , crisps, nuts ,cheese slices and some cooked meet slices , prawns and mussels etc which are all left uncovered on top of the main bar in 30 degree heat. Cocktails are poured from bottles of cocktail mix . There isn't enough sun loungers at the pool , people place towels and then don't use the loungers all day . Actually saw people putting towels out at half past three this morning. Entertainment the other night consisted of bingo . I would say about 95% or more of the guests are German or Dutch . The air conditioning in the hotel and even the rooms is set at a certain temperature and you can not change this which for me it was not cool enough especially at night . My opinion book a different hotel . Holiday booked through Jet 2 who we've complained to about these issues both in resort and back home , with the usual response of 'oh we're very sorry it didn't meet your expectations etc' . Is this the expectations I had when you sold me this holiday thinking it's Jet 2, it will be good , how wrong was I :( Collapse
