A group of of us stayed here for a long weekend - family and close friends - as we were attending the 50th birthday celebration for our friend who has a property nearby.. We were a mature, well presented group of 14 and were shocked upon arrival at reception to be told - before any greeting - that they were concerned about us in case we disturbed the German guests who like peace and quiet! Apparently there had been a large group of English staying there recently who had caused a disturbance which had resulted in the police being called. We were obviously not a crowd of rampant youth, the oldest of us being in our seventies! We reassured the receptionist that we were actually going to an extremely upmarket trattoria in Port Adriano that afternoon for the birthday meal and that, together with a few well chosen words from a few members of our group (at all times polite but firm), convinced her we were acceptable guests!! This was not an acceptable introduction to the hotel and it is sad that previous guests had, by their poor behaviour, influenced her view of us. I must add that, once installed and having proved ourselves to be considerate and law abiding, her attitude changed to one of extreme helpfulness! Such a pity that this coloured our impression of the hotel. With regard to the hotel itself, the rooms were comfortable and clean; the restaurant presented an excellent buffet and the position is convenient for nearby shops, bars and the beach - which is a short walk away. The lifts work well! We stayed out of season, in March, so things were quiet in the area but I imagine that high season would be quite different. The hotel is the last one on the main road so there is unlikely to be much disturbance from passers by. Collapse

Booked 4 nights here. Checked in and directed to what could only be described as a grotty room, right at the back of the hotel, tiny and quite cold and in need of a lick of paint. Room 140. I know, it is March. When we went to bed we noticed a persistent irritating and loud noise (still no idea what) which kept us awake most of the night. We reported it the next morning but definitely got the impression from the helpful receptiòn lady that this was no surprise to her. So the option was presented to upgrade for another 60 euros for our remaining nights. New room had a fridge that didn't work and sounded like a jet engine but we managed to unplug that. All well and good but frankly if this was really a four star hotel and one of the guests had been put in a room which precluded a good night's sleep, surely the appropriate response would be to put them in a new room at no extra cost? New room has seen better days e.g light switches hanging off the wall, but other than that, food good, staff friendly. Just not 4 star service. Collapse
Absolute fab time!!!

Visited this hotel from 22nd to 25th Feb 2018. Slight hiccup of rooms when arrived but it was sorted quickly and I was very satisfied with the help received. Romana (entertainment specialist), I love you! You went all out to ensure your guest were made to feel welcomed, happy and dancing all night long. Miguel and Ralph, two amazing Directors and Managers who ENSURED my birthday was full of surprises that just kept on giving. Nothing was too much, neither too hard. Very welcoming, accommodating, helpful and pleasant staff. Will definitely go again. Collapse
Spending time with Romana the entertainment lady.

I spent six nights at the Bahia del sol with a friend from 18th February till the 24th February. Arrived at the hotel around mid-day. Reception staff seemed nice, but wasn’t overly friendly, but nice all the same, it to be fair as time went on, reception staff seemed more welcoming apart from one lady which was rude, but apparently she is new, but the rest of the ladies were very nice and helpful to me. Our room was on the first floor, room was clean and a good size, view wasn’t the best but ok, but we didn’t have to wait, check in was quick and easy and off we went to our room, walking through the hotel is did seem very quiet, with not much guest. We unpacked and decided to go for a walk, not much people about, a lot of bars and restaurants where closed, we assumed this was because it was Sunday, but later learned this was due to this was Santa Ponsa quiet time, so most shops and business was closed. As we was half board we stopped and bought a few bits in the shops, snacks and alcohol for our room. We came back and got ready for dinner, for the first couple of nights dinner was nice and so was breakfast, then it seem like the hotel was catering more for the Germans as the hotel began to fill up. The facilities was nice, indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna, which we used every morning. There was one really hot day which we spent on the terrace roof, which was really nice. Romana the entertainment lady was really nice she gave so much time to us, also asking if we was ok and generally sitting and talking to us, some evenings she would play a little music and we would get up and dance with her, but most of the guest didn’t look to happy about this, as they were older Germans. We met two nice ladies from London and we spent a couple evenings with them. Saturday was one of the ladies from London’s birthday and they mentioned to us that they told the managing director. Friday after entertainment had finished, Romana started playing music the four of us, we got up on the dance floor and started dancing and having fun. There was a VIP group from Germany and a few of them joined us on the dance floor, then they all joined us which was really nice, another English couple joined in and we was having such a great time. Even the managing director Miguel and Rolf the owner of the hotel joined in. The atmosphere was great, just how we like our holidays to be, but I don’t think this hotel has partied like this before. Midnight the managing director brought out a cake and champagne/procecco not sure but it was nice and everyone sang happy birthday to the lady from London, the bar staff got involved, big shouts to Vicky, the older gentleman who made me the best cocktails and the young man, we love you all. We partied until after 1.00am. That was the best night of our holiday, so a very big thank you to the managing director Miguel for making that happen. Was a pleasure meeting the running team from Germany, big shouts to you all especially my girls Rebecca and Annette. Big shouts to Miguel the managing director, your doing a good job, big shouts to the owner Rolf and last but not least Romana, we will never forget you and will keep in contact as you made our holiday it’s not allowing me to add my ratings, service 4* this is mainly down to Romana. Rooms 4* and cleanliness 4* Collapse

Some of the facilities are great and some not so great! Some of the staff are great and some not so great. The hotel has public areas that are bright and clean . It has some staff, reception and cleaners who are pleasant and friendly and others that are not, therefore looking at any review the opinions will depend on how things were on the day. However the one constant that is a let down is the parking. It is off site and you have to drive along a winding road behind the hotel. Then stop and open the gate which is advertised as locked and one pays a 10 Euro deposit for a key and another key to get into the back gate of the hotel. There are limited spaces and i would imagine in summer it is a nightmare. I was there in February and could not find a space on one evening. Then you leave the 'field' and have to walk a hundred yards or so to the back gate of the hotel. For the four nights I was there neither parking gate nor hotel gate was locked. There are no lights and the path down to the hotel is steep, One night it was raining and it was slippery and someone fell. I don't know if they were hurt as I was not part of their party. Entering the hotel it is a WARREN and two lifts in different directions to get to my second floor room. How it is with children or wheelchairs i cant imagine. You cannot check out and get your deposit until you have removed your car from the parking. it is necessary to keep the keys , just in case the gates are locked, and drive back to the front of the hotel to return them and check out. As a single traveler I could find no where to park . There is NO parking in front of the hotel it is a Bus Stop. There is a little space either side of the bus stop markings but every time i entered or left the hotel they were occupied. Impossible in my opinion and as i had a hire car and was very conscious of potential theft or damage it was not ideal. There is very limited street parking nearby to use whilst checking out. The other problem was the bedroom door lock. Magnetic card that did not work. The first time i went to reception to explain the girl said i must have had it next to my mobile phone. I was not sure so accepted it was possible. She gave me a new one and it worked. Second time it didn't work i went back and told them i had not had it next to my phone. She sent another receptionist with a master key and that did not work for the first few times of trying. Then it worked and she said it must be the battery in the door lock. She would arrange for it to be replaced. Next night it did not work again . I complained and was told it was fixed I very rarely give any negative review but I do feel that older people, people with children and limited mobility will find the parking a real issue and up and down to reception if the door lock doesn't work. . There is a fridge in the room but not adjustable. I bought a bottle of wine and it was frozen and the fridge hummed all night. Collapse
