So, 50% off bookings says the website, and no matter which link you follow, you end up with rates which are significantly higher. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and its getting more and more expensive for a very underwhelming offering. The normal rate for a twin room, ends up at 2,000AED after the 50% discount, which is clearly nonsense - its 4* hotel surrounded by a busy road, a floodlit vehicle racing track and comprehensive light pollution. Nobody pays 4,000AED for a twin room at this hotel nor ever has. I booked last year and got it for half the price. The actual hotel and grounds are nice, but can no longer claim to be a desert hotel. Think of it as a hotel with a large sandy garden, surrounded by a lot more than desert and although to rooms are quiet, its no longer the same. Collapse

Just stayed in Bab Al Shams few days ago with my friends and seriously cannot wait to go back. I have never been to Dubai before and was looking for a unique place to stay in. We did not want to stay in a hotel/resort that we could find anywhere else. This resort was so wonderful. The architecture and layout of the whole place was very impressive. Although it was cloudy the whole time we were there, all the pictures are amazing because the whole place is amazing! I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to my friends. The buffet (Al Hadheerah) was so amazing! The best restaurant I have ever been to! The food is amazing, the ambience is so unique, and the show was so amazing. I had more fun in Bab Al Shams than in Old Dubai. It was so romantic! I do not know if I will visit Dubai again. But I would definitely come back to this place if I have the chance. Everyone was so kind and friendly. Thank you so much for a lovely stay! Collapse

We were two female friends travelling from Dubai to Abu Dhabi and back up to Bab Al Sham, Dubai. We stayed one night and had the two half days at the resort as we checked in at 12 and our room was ready. Valet and concierge sort car and cases and we went and explored the resort. All 5 star, beautiful Arabic desert style. Free camel ride and falconry in the evening and roof top terrace. Make sure you get breakfast included as this was an entertainment in itself. Amazing food. We went to Al Hadheera restaurant, dinner show and upscale all you can eat buffet. 100% recommended and great value for money. All the staff at the resort spoke English as if first language so booking activities, asking for directions (we went to the Dubai Endurance City across the desert!) is all very easy. Bottled water and fruit replenished in room throughout the day. All in all, great value for money through a third party U.K. Website. Please, go treat yourself. We will be returning with our families and friends. Watch out for the camels on the road on the drive in to the resort! Collapse

+'ves: The staff were amazing, particularly in the Indian restaurant where they couldn't do enough for us. Swim up bar is lovely. Indian restaurant was probably the best I've ever eaten and the staff were 1st class. Loads of live entertainment which was all amazing. Fireworks both nights I was there. Falcon show was cool. -'ves: The larger swimming pool was completely unusable because of how cold it was - even dipping a toe in was seriously uncomfortable. Luckily the smaller pools were slightly warmer otherwise the entire weekend would have been a waste. Room was lovely but I had several sneezing fits and by the end of the trip couldn't stay in the room for longer than 5 mins before it kicking off again so I suspect it was very dusty. The ads they use for the desert are a complete misrepresentation of what the surrounding desert is actually like. Camels looks very unhappy and after actually seeing them didn’t want to go for the ride because it felt a bit cruel. Collapse
