we arrived around 10am which brings me to me first observation, they told us we could not have our room until 2pm they did give us our all inclusive bands but we saw several people check in and get their room keys even though we had been waiting hours for ours which was annoying when we got to the room it was very dated and tired looking, the bathroom looked grubby, the tiles around the bath had orange and black mould in the grouting, the shower curtain was also going orange around the bottom, there was a fridge in the room but the drinking glasses in the fridge door were stuck in place and when you got them out there was a white residue around the top also the freezer compartment was frosted right up so goodness knows when it was last defrosted and cleaned, the room looked like it needed a good deep clean we had a socket that everytime you pulled the plug out the socket came out of the wall, 2 of the lights did not work, these were reported to the maid and to reception just after we arrived but they were still not working when we left a week later the safe in the room costs 3 euros a day to rent the all inclusive drinks were very good, alas the food was not to the same standard, it was very bland and overcooked, chicken dry and tasteless, so we ate out during our stay if you have any walking difficulties then think twice about this hotel as i did not find one place you could walk to easily without having to walk up or down flights of stairs or steps of some sort, we were in block C and we had to take 2 lifts from reception to our room neither of which stop at the entrance levels the lifts stop a floor above or below the doors into the blocks which seemed very strange just before we left one of the lifts stopped working so i asked if there was any other way to get our cases to reception for our pick up I was told sorry no we either had to negotiate 6 flights of stairs with our cases or drag them around the outside of the hotel, I asked if help was available but was told sorry no we would have to manage ourselves there is some renovation work going on at the hotel but the speed we saw them working at it will be a long job so be prepared to stay in quite dated accommodation until its complete I was not impressed with the hotel which is a shame as it is in a great location close to the beach and 12 mins walk to the main street with all the bars etc on, also the pool areas were nice, its a shame so much lets it down, I will not be going back again Collapse

Had a few days break here. Weather was not good but roons were large, clean and confortanle. Excellent showers with loads of hot water. Buffet style meals which were acceptable. Was quite a hike from reception to block C. Done the job.

Stayed here for 1 week with my daughter in March. Stayed in blocked D initially and requested to be moved, disgraceful room, dark, dirty and had a breeze coming through the door. Told staff about this and given towels to place under door to prevent this. Moved on the third day to block A and rooms much better, however not the cleanest. Food wasn't great and limited choice for kids, however it would appear that the target market is older couples rather than families. Enough to get by but generally the same food each night. Staff in hotel genrally ok, a few who were very unaccommadating refusing us breakfast on the morning of our departure. We were all inclusive and have been before but in the Auramar it's very disjointed in terms of times and gaps in between breakfast and lunch etc. The weather wasnt great when we were here, so we spent a bit longer in the hotel than what we liked, but I wouldn't go back here, location isn't great either. Struggle to find anything more than 2 stars, which in itself is a compliment considering its outdated and in need of regeneration. Collapse

This is a great hotel for the price we paid. We were all inclusive and the food was always nice, hot, varied, and plentiful. The staff here are really very helpful. Rooms are a little bit dated but for the money we paid we weren't expecting 5 stars. There is entertainment every night which was good for our family. All in all a great place to stay in Albufiera. I would most definitely return. Collapse

We booked a short all inclusive break in April and found the resort very pleasant. It was quite quiet when we went, but there was still entertainment on every night and everything was open. We arrived early and had to wait for our room to be ready, but the reception staff gave us a place to leave our bags and we were allowed to use all the facilities from the moment we arrived. In actual fact the room was ready earlier than we were promised. The room was clean and well presented if a little run down, but we were pleased to see we had a fridge, a seating area on the balcony and the beds were comfortable. Food was okay and not too repetitive, although quality of food served at the pool bar was not as good as in the main restaurant. The resort itself is set on a very picturesque rocky outcrop that has access directly to the beach and you can walk along the beach to central Albufeira. There is also a shuttle bus run from the resort, but there were more people waiting to get on the last bus back to the resort than there were seats and there was a lot of pushing and shoving. A taxi back to the resort is about 6 Euro, so all a bit unnecessary! We also used the on site spa and my wife enjoyed a massage which cost around 20 Euro. Overall a good experience. We traveled as a couple for our anniversary, whilst the in laws looked after our children, glad we did not book a family holiday here as I didn't feel there was an awful lot for the children, however it may be different during school holidays and peak times.
