Tried to go to The Atlantis to go to Nassimi beach for some drinks. As a visitor to the hotel I was unaware this was located separately from the main hotel area. When asking for directions we were told to just 'go to the road'. When asking for somewhere else to get drinks in the hotel we were told that it was only the lobby available and that it was only for residents. Unhelpful and rude staff. Collapse

Amazing Property! Loved every bit of our stay here the weather is very very hot and the ocean view from my deluxe room from the 18th floor was too amazing! we did not try the pool as it was filled with too many tourists during peak times. Of the 23 restaurants, we only had time to enjoy a few ((3 of them) The breakfast and dinner were too tasty and with too many options and unlimited choices! There are many security staff around asking to see your pass for the room every time you roam around the property, need to use technology to identify resident guests. We loved and enjoyed 2 days at the water park! – the primary reason we went to the hotel and stayed for a night is to enjoy the water park. We met an amazing individual on Mr. Chatauranga at the Lost Chambers Aquarium and he explained about each animal/Fish available at the Aquarium. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. Collapse

Recently returned from Atlantis The Palm in Dubai. My boyfriend and I booked along with another couple who have been to Dubai 4 times previous. Atlantis is out of this world... many restaurants, water park, aquarium, dolphins and sea lions, beaches and bars. Perfect setting on the peak of The Palm. Although this hotel is gorgeous and lavish it is very much a family destination and the hotel was filled with children. Which is fine but not ideal for late 20s looking to enjoy a party atmosphere. Taxis were required to get us to and from all our destinations. The ocean view rooms were ocean views with additional views of construction and cranes, the pool view rooms in the west tower came with the added soundtrack of Nasimi Beach club until 3am which is fine for those out late but not for those who are out late. I'm glad I experienced Atlantis but the lack of adult only areas would lead me to look elsewhere in future for a couples holiday. The location is super glam and offers many activities but lacks the adult only areas needed for those not staying with children. Collapse

The Atlantis is undoubtably a spectacular hotel! With impressive decor when you enter and staff are welcoming when you arrive. The pros of this hotel are as follows: 1. Lebanese food here is lovely. It's a must visit. Nicer place to eat breakfast. Go there! 2. Good choice of food outlets (see cons), particularly for HB/FB paying guests. 3. Free shuttle provided to Emirates Mall (Note this is a small bus so gets full quickly and other people/cultures don't seem to care about first come first serve) 4. Metro and Trams are a lot less money than taxis here. The traffic is terrible and everything is on a meter. 5. Water Park is fab! Get there early to get a seat with an umbrella in a good spot. They go quick. 6. Malls have supermarkets where you are able to buy drinks and snacks which are so much cheaper than what you find on the Palm. 7. Rooms are cleaned and seen to twice a day. Good standard and free water provided. Small fridge where you can chill a couple of drinks etc. Cons: 1. HB/FB paying guests will be charged a range of supplement payments at different restaurants. Do check as you can end up paying a lot for food when you think you've already got it covered. If you do chose to visit these places, go hungry and eat the three courses covered in the supplemental costs. I payed HB plus 75 AED extra for a starter size goats cheese salad. Our travel operater (Best at Travel) didn't tell us about this. Very misleading in my opinion! 2. Taxis are expensive and traffic is bad here. 3. Beds and umbrellas have seen better days. Plus hotel pool floor looks like it needs a make over. Not 5 plus star you would expect. 4. The Kaleidoscope Buffet where HB/FB paying guests eat for free stinks. Its small for the size of the hotel and you often have to line up to get a table. People push in as standard and its not that great either. Chaos! Bad coffee to. 6. Service standards are inconsistent here. Some are brilliant others are awful. One thing i expect from 5 star resorts is a generally consistancy of good customer service. 7. There is no difference in room type with Deluxe, Ocean Deluxe, or Palm Deluxe. Imperial option gives you the same room type also just access to a lounge for afternoon tea etc. Again not worth the additional cost unless you feel you have a good price overall. 8. During Ramadan many of the rides at the water park are closed for maintenance. Our operater wasn't aware of this until i pointed it out after reading it on the main hotel web page. They quickly copy and pasted it on the website with in 30minutes and tried to make out it had been there all along (It hadn't). The malls are closed to but open in the evenings. 9. Boat rides booked through operators that are around the hotel are ridiculously expensive. For an hours entertainment its not worth the money. Dolphin and Sea Lions experiences are also overpriced unless you have more money than sense. The hotel is a must see, however, there are many great hotels for less money that offer just as good service etc. Its great for families with younger children. Collapse

The Atlantis Palm is a fabulous complex with excellent restaurants, shopping facilities, swimming pools, 'experience' areas (aquarium, dolphins, etc) and endless (crowded!) play areas. At the end of the day though, this is little more than a fabulous money-making machine aimed at the well-healed traveller but with the sophistication of a mass-market theme park. Not the place for a relaxing holiday! Collapse
