Stayed here for one night as we were on our way to Galway on a coach holiday. No amenities outside the hotel as it was situated in a business park so had to use the hotel facilities. Our room was clean, bed was ok, bathroom without toiletries but a notice informed us that reception would supply them with compliments. Our food was ok but lots of our group were complaining that it was cold. The waitresses and chefs were polite and friendly. The reception staff were without warmth or personality and took back our room key with no eye contact or even asked if we'd had a good stay with them. It was the barman (possible Manager) though that took first prize for being surly, even downright rude by telling people to get out of the way!!! Will happily NOT stay here again........ Collapse

My husband booked this hotel for a quick break to Dublin to visit relatives. He wanted a cheap hotel and booked Aspect hotel without reading reviews on Tripadvisor. We arrived just after midnight and the doors were locked. There was a sign on the door saying to ring a telephone number to gain entry. We scrabbled around in the dark and cold trying to find our mobiles and after a short while, felt like an eternity, we were let in. This was not the best welcome and left me wondering why the hotel doesn't adopt the system like the French hotels use- you're given a code online beforehand to gain entry. We had booked a twin room, but when we eventually got upstairs, we found that we'd been allocated a double room. I was so tired, I couldn't be bothered to traipse down to reception to change it. The room itself was spacious and well- equipped, but one of the walls was in a poor state of repair with gouges out of the plaster and an ugly dirty mark running down it. The bathroom, however, was spotless. I struggled to sleep as the bed was too hard for my liking and the noise from traffic was quite loud. At one point, it sounded like joyriders were going around the nearby roundabout as tyres were screeching over and over again! We paid 10 euros each for breakfast on the second morning, but it was just ok. The day before we had eaten in a cafe just around the corner and the quality was better and it was cheaper! When we checked out, the young man on reception didn't ask us whether we'd enjoyed our stay. If he had have done, I would have raised my concerns. I gave stayed in cheap Premier Inns in the UK and have had a much better experience. I would not return to this hotel. Collapse

Firstly, these large corporates need to understand that not everyone is online 24/7, especially if they're abroad. We had phoned through a week ahead to inform the hotel that we would not supply a credit card and intended to pay cash. They 'noted' this against our reservation. On arrival we were told the room had been released because they couldn't pre-approve a card. I explained and there was no sign of the note on the reservation. Luckily, the staff on duty dealt with it swiftly and we stayed in the booked room. Once I had the wifi, emails came through telling me of their actions and a missed phone call too. I'd been in the Irish countryside and the signal from whichever roaming provider was not good. To the corporate people who set up these procedures based on a perfect world scenario - please don't rely on email. Right - onto the hotel... Aspect is very much a business style accomodation with apartments for longer stayers. Our room was on the first floor with a view across land which looks likely to be developed in coming years. The room and corridors were very clean and well maintained. Just perhaps they need to make ceilings thicker when designing the building or we were simply unlucky to have Nellie the Elephant prancing around overhead? The eating area was clean and well staffed for breakfast. The food was excellent but you did have to get to know your table neighbours (ours were German and we had a great convo). Location is on the edge of a business park but with a rail station into Heuston just 5 mins walk. The area looks to be part of an up and coming part of Dublin and there were homes nearby. I'd guess there'll be quite a few more within 2-3 years bringing with them more local amenities. We would stay again. Collapse
nothing exceptional but clean, convenient, and comfortable

The hotel is located some 10 minutes outside of Dublin by train. If you like nightlife, you might want to consider something more centrally located but for us, this was great. We took the bus into Temple Bar one day (about 40 minutes) just to see the surrounding area, which isn't very interesting. The train ends at Heuston Station, from where one can walk, take a bus, get another train, or use the Luras. The room was mid-sized, with a comfortable queen bed and a reasonable bathroom. I fell in love with the shower, although that may have been the result of having used inadequate showers for the previous month. Breakfast was €10, which was a bit steep only because we don't eat the full Irish breakfast. Apparently all the other restaurants in the areas close around 3:00 pm so this is it for dinner. We found it a bit pricey so ate in the city. Getting to the airport was easy enough -- train to Heuston, then Airlink Express to the airport. Don't believe the express part, though. Collapse
