We booked this hotel a week before staying. Our room was upgraded upon arrival so we had a lovely view of the park - Quite old styled rooms but in keeping with the property. The build itself and grounds are beautiful. We checked in and heded to a pub nearby for lunch. We had a pot of tea (which was served in gorgeous silver with warm biscuits) when we got back to the hotel in font of a large open fire before going to the spa. When we got to the spa we were told we would have to put our names on the waiting list & to expect a 30 min wait. We did so and went up to the waiting area where there was a bar and rugby on the tv. We found out the only facility we could us together we the pool as the steam/sauna was in the changing rooms - We didn't want to spend time separately so we headed back to our room. A little disappointing as we expected better facilities for couples rather than seperate. We had dinner booked that evening and chose the set menu. We had 3 courses that were all fabulous - I am dairy free and the waiter took time to ensure the options on the menu were suitable. I even got a vegan chocolate brownie with raspberry sorbet for dessert which was amazing! Pianist playing all evening which made a lovely setting. Rooms had huge double beds that were so comfy with beautiful linen - breakfast was in the dining room and food, again, was perfect with great service. Overall a lovely, relaxing, luxurious weekend - we just wish the spa had been a little more accommodating. Would definitely recommend to friends and family & lunch at The Cat Inn about 10 mins drive away is fabulous! Collapse

Stayed here on a special valentines overnight deal, complete with afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast. Lovely bed room with stunning views. Afternoon tea was delightful, as was the 4 course dinner, the food was delicious and well presented. We didn't use the spa facilities as it was a crisp sunny day so we spent most of the day exploring the grounds. The hotel has some lovely reception rooms which are perfect for relaxing whilst enjoying a glass of wine or coffee ! What really stood out for me was the staff, they were attentive and discreet, providing an amazing service which is often hard to find these days ! Collapse

Had a lovely room complete with four poster bed and grand piano. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food, location and weather was lovely during our stay. We had free entry to the Llama park which is easily accessed from the hotel grounds (take wellies if you walk over). The children loved getting up close to the animals. The hotel is within the Ashdown forest famous for Winnie the Pooh so some lovely walks and views from the forest. We went to Gills Lap which is a short drive away for a proper country walk. Spent some time in the pool and Jacuzzi area and played some tennis at the hotel as well. Lovely roaring fires to curl up by at the end of the day in the drawing rooms. Collapse

A lovely English hotel in the heart of rural England. You are first impressed by its size and then the décor inside. The beedrooms are all well furnished and in good condition. The Sunday lunch was excellent.
