This was perfectly located for us, even though it is not so near the beach it is so easy to take any of the "internal Positano" busses, since there is a bus stop right next to the hotel. It is very clean, with beautiful views and very comfortable. The breakfast is excellent and you can also ask for an espresso and they do it right for you. The staff was courteous, specially Ahmed. He was very helpful and answered all our questions without hesitate. The only downside was there was not enough hot water on the last day and one day there was a construction on the upper room and there was a crane passing through our balcony at 8am. However, this hotel will be our first choice when coming back to Positano. Collapse
Pretty hotel, but incapable of dealing with any complaints

It’s a lovely looking hotel, but if you have any issues like we did the staff are incapable of dealing with them. All the hotels in Positano have the beautiful views because they’re built on a cliff so I wouldn’t go back to this particular one.

Myself and 2 female friends have been travelling italy for the past 2 weeks and positano was high on our list- and we were very excited to visit this hotel. The “free WiFi “ they advertise is pretty much non-existent so if it’s important to you...don’t come here. And we did try at numerous areas of the hotel. But the main issue we encountered was with the heating...Myself and the 2 other ladies I’m travelling with all went to sleep at 12am....I tossed and turned all night for 3 hours because it was so unbelievably hot in the room. I even opened the full balcony doors to let air in. Then at 3am after 3 hours of unrest- but not wanting to wake the other ladies...I started to get the feeling they were also still awake so I asked them and they both replied that they had barely had a wink of sleep because they were so hot. Obviously had we known that ALL of us couldn’t sleep...we would have promptly turned the light on and called reception... but each of us presumed the others were sleeping and assumed it was the heating from the hotel rather than our personal rooms (which we turned off earlier that night). At 3am, when we realised we were all awake we turned the lights on and were about to go to reception when my friend noticed the room heating was at 28 degrees.... We decided to turn it off, open the patio doors, get some rest (as we were due to get up at 6am) and speak to the reception in the morning. So we went to the reception this morning to check out and told the receptionist...who immediately implied we were making it up and repeatedly said “you should have called us” to which we all had a turn at trying to explain the situation to her (to no avail). It’s not that difficult to understand that by the time we realised it was the room heating...we were able to turn it off ourselves without having to contact reception so what would be the point at 3am? And we were absolutely exhausted by this point after trying to get to sleep for 3 hours!! The receptionist informed us that it’s “a legality for the hotel to have the heating automatically switch on during the night” ( I know.....we were equally shocked and stunned by this bold claim - which I also have recorded on my phone as I’m going to take this matter further). Then a few minutes later she said it “shouldn’t switch on automatically as hot as that”. So I’m still not entirely sure what the hotels policies are on heating!? Iv never heard of a hotels heating turning itself up to 28 degrees at 3am randomly? Considering at 12am it wasn’t on at all? Very dodgy! What if there was a baby in the room? Anyway the lady at reception offered to take off 2 bottles of mineral water to compensate for 3 women barely getting a winks sleep due to faults with their heating. Like 2 free bottles of water between 3 would make the sleepless night worth it! ... The hotel also says you pay on departure yet €150 has been held on my account for the past week so I asked her to remove the hold on my money since we were about to pay....but rather than that...she just decided to put through the payment on my card then claim that “removing the hold” means paying. To act as the cherry on top...we went into have breakfast afterwards and the chef was chatting to us as he has friends from our city. Then the receptionist came in and blatently told him not to speak to us. I then said to him “oh you’ve not to talk to us then” and he went “ I know”. Every other place and hotel Iv been to in Italy so far has been truly amazing. But I would avoid this place like the plague! Iv never had a worse experience at a hotel and a lovely couple we met at the restaurant next door were extremely disappointed with loud banging in their room which was not sorted for them either! Would not recommend! Collapse

The good: the room is large and comfortable. beautiful view, amazing really, good balcony. The not good: - The shower is minuscule. I am a thin but pregnant woman and in about one month I wouldn't fit into the shower. - The "jetted tub" is a joke. There wasn't enough water to fill the tub. It took over an hour to fill half of the tub. The water was cold by the time there was enough of it in it for us to use it. - The hotel stored blocks of concrete on the patio. Our patio was nice just the construction materials blocked the view from inside the room. For that alone, we would have booked another place. To take away the main attraction in your town makes little sense. - Someone else had mentioned the staff promising to look into something and never getting back. Same happened to us. We called for towels, waited one hour, went to reception, desk person had forgotten about it. Buses weren't working due to rain, front desk said they would notify us when buses were back on. Forgot about it. So you just wait for front desk to get back, when all along it was never coming. Pretty annoying. - Internet also doesn't work most of the time. - Also as someone else mentioned, only two restaurants open right now. Stay in Sorrento or Amalfi, don't bother with Positano Collapse

I have been at the Art Pasitea Hotel recently with my family and I had the best holiday ever. Positano is a really unique and magic place. It's almost impossible to find the rights words to describe this picturesque village . I live in Australia and this by far my favourite hotel in all of my trip. In this hotel I found the typical warm and friendly hospitality of Italian culture. The staff has been very helpful and in particular the director Gianmaria made our stay very pleasant. -Alessia Collapse
