Very nice little family run apartments. Hard working friendly and helpful staff. We had a great time. The apartment was outside the main town and would require a car (or a very healthy pair of legs) to get back up the hills. No pool but clean well equipped apartments. The position of the apartments meant we couldn't sit on the balcony in the evenings but this was only a minor gripe. Useful base location for touring the island. The biggest asset of this property was the excellent staff. Collapse

We really enjoyed the beautiful apartments (we rented two separate places over a 2 week period). It felt like a home away from home. The furniture was comfortable, the kitchen was good (except for the impossible to understand glass topped stove in the 2nd apartment). The views were great and the staff (especially Naomi) were so helpful. It's a bit of a walk into town but worth it due to the privacy and the great view of the ocean. Collapse

We arrived late at night, but the bar was still open and restaurant just, so we got our room key and went straight for food. Food was cold and strange. I didn't mind it but as it was a traditional experience but my friend hated everything about it, so we didn't eat in the restaurant again. Our room was a nice size. Comfortable bed but duvet cover a bit past it's best and a door onto the terrace, with lovely views. Tv didn't have any English channels. All the furniture seemed as though it could do with being replaced. The kitchen had two hobs, a microwave and toaster, that's all, so true self catering was out of the window. no kettle was gutting for me I love a cup of tea. There was very poor selection of cutlery and utensils. It wasn't dirty as such but dusty and you couldn't walk around with nothing on your feet or your feet got black! And clothes put on the floor got dusty. No cleaning throughout stay, all they did was empty the bin. There is a lift. My friend is an occasional wheel chair user with mobility issues and we found it fine. Parking was ok. This is lovely place but just needs a little tlc to make it perfect. If we needed to come back here we would stay again despite all these points. Collapse

When Choosing this Hotel for our two week XMAS vacation we were full of hope after studying the promotional ads we even paid 250 euro extra on top of our original costs for a ROOM UPGRADE to ensure a bit of luxury also to enjoy the SUN also SUNSETS (BALCONY) for our stay On our Arrival we met NOAMI in reception A lovely lady very helpful very friendly very hardworking very welcoming a perfect host 10 out of 10 who handed us our key WE inspected the room which we did not like NOAMI then very patiently always with a friendly smile kindly allowed us to inspect 3 further rooms & although we were still not fully happy we felt had to chose room so hello room 408 ROOM 408 plus points// GOOD LIFT from street level swiftly takes you up to your room level clean bedroom excellent bed lovely balcony beautiful SEA VIEWS over looking the upper terrace BAD POINTS although self catering no proper means of cooking i/e no oven 2 ring gas (which also had to cover for warmth when cold which was frequent in December no Kettle water for tea was boiled in a saucepan (note half way through our holiday the next room was left open for cleaning so quite wrongly we wandered in & borrowed one) very little cutlery all odd// microwave was so worn you did not wish to place food in it all the rest of the furnishings required immediate upgrading FORGET TV either Spanish or German no subtitles ? Balcony never saw the SUN // Upper so called roof top TERRACE (not exactly roof top ) caught a little SUN late afternoon JAQCUZI we were informed had been broken for the last 18 months// reclining bed featured in their AD Curtain covering the top was torn// BBQ wherever it was we never saw working the most people we ever saw using this terrace amounted to approx 4-6 Watch out for the very tight parking amenity to the side of property Front of Hotel was very welcoming however inside was not very welcoming although the Hotel was supposed to be full you never saw guests frequenting either the Bar or Restaurant areas ESTRELLA de MONTE although a beautiful HOTEL situated above BEAUTIFULL ICOD de LOS VINOS with great views situated in the true Spanish locality good local bars /Restaurants /Shops requires serious room upgrade to provide the expected Luxury that Guests expect & are indeed paying for as our vacation was not on the cheap side cost over £1000.00 with car hire over £1200.00 with hindsightwe know we should have chosen more carefully we could for this price stayed in a proper 5 star HOTEL REGARDS Peter Barbara Gray Sheffield South Yorkshire UK Collapse
Hire car necessary, as this is the house on the hill

Upon arrival with my partner and 3 kids. we were told the hotel was full, but... they had a lovely surprise for us? Which was a flat above a clothes shop on the Main Street with no parking for our hire car. So we went back up the steep hills to the hotel, and when I say steep I mean steep. And magically they had a room for us and the other guests in the reception when I got back there. After a day, we realised that there was no heating, oven, toaster or microwave to cook with. As this was self catering you would expect these. But once we addressed the issues they were accommodating and supplied us with what we needed. Also there was no iron but the hotel offered an ironing service at a fee. The bedding wasn't changed very often and the maid mustn't of owned a mop, as the floors were always dirty! And we had to put our flip flops on to go to the bathroom as our feet got filthy. This hotel is on a hill about 2 miles from the town, and not a lot nearby. It wouldn't suit people who find it hard to walk or have mobility problems. We were on the corner of the front block and the traffic was waking us in our sleep as it's quite busy and on a hill people have to rev to get up the hill. However it does serve really nice food, and a nice roof terrace. Luckily we had a hire car, so we could travel to other towns, Puerto de la Cruz is about 22km from this hotel. Which we spent a lot of time there. Not a bad hotel, room for improvement. Collapse
