we returned on the 12th of feb after 8 days stay at hotel apartamentos do golf ,we booked a 1 bed appartment but we didnot like where it was down some stairs and not facing the sun !! so we went back to reception and asked to be downgraded to a 1 bed studio ,the reception were very helpfull and put us in studio 0 10 opposite the pool which was a lot smaller but much nicer ! we thought because we had downgraded to the studio they might have given us some sort of refund, but there was no offer from them which would have been a token gesture! the rooms are in bad need of a refurbishment !!! a new bathroom ,new furniture and a lick of paint everywhere is all it needs ! the rooms are cleaned every day and are spotless ! the staff are fantastic and cant do enough to help you ! wi fi was 10 euros for seven days and worked perfectly in the room ,i thought that was good value ! you could get a sun lounger for outside and a mat for it from george the maintainence man ! anyway we have booked to go back on the 27th of feb for a bit more winter sunshine ! all and all its a nice place to have a quiet break at not a lot of money! so give it a try roger and jo from leeds. oh and there is free shuttle bus to the marina 3 times a day from the hotel and a great spa supermarket within 5mins walk which is very cheap. We had an apartment that was nicely situated with plenty of light! The heating was absolutely a life saver and the water pressure and temp of shower/bath was very good. Cleaning service was good and price was very reasonable! We saved a very high amount of money with the facility to cook our own food. Local produce was really good! Free bus journeys into town and return, although more trips to be able to spend the evening out would have been good for guests. We were happy with the evenings in though. No wifi though! Unless you pay each day which we thought was a bit expensive per device. Get a voda phone sim if you want to have internet, we brought ours at the airport. Also prob cheaper to book transfer to hotel in advance, we paid return €54 as we didn't! I would recommend this hotel. Collapse
I will definitely be returning! Peaceful & amazing!

I personally think, this is one of the best places to stay in Algarve. Vilamoura is a lovely, peaceful place, the hotel is super clean, the two pools, the apartment was spotless. All the staffs were polite and lovely. The apartment was spacious, own garden (had amazing views), kitchenette, TV channels like BBC, channel 4. Also, it takes about roughly 10 mins to get to the Marina, where you could find pretty much everything like restaurants, shops, beach etc. The hotel provides a free shuttle 3 times a day to the Marina, unfortunately I've always missed it and the times were not convenient for me. Nevertheless, the hotel is working with a cab company called Twinkle Cars - I've used them a quite lot, and their fares are quite reasonable. I've had the same driver called Joao, he was the sweetest driver ever - providing me with a lot of information and things to do during my stay in Algarve. I had a pleasant stay in Hotel Apartementos Do Golf regardless if you play golf or not, this hotel is peaceful and stunning. Collapse

My wife and I have just come back from a lovely break in portugal. We stayed for 5 nights. We wanted a quiet hotel, clean and friendly and we certainly got all of that. A few thoughts: We hired bikes for our whole stay. This meant we could easily get into Vilamoura and Quinteria and further afield when we wanted to. It is a fair distance from the hotel to the towns. There are a lot of cycle paths and we always felt safe even when we we were cycling at night. The roads are reasonably flat and there are safe places to cross junctions. We had a room (407) which was down a few flights of stairs however it was clean , warm and spacious. The bed was a little firm but comfy - would have preferred a double rather than 2 singles pushed together. The room was also close to the reception and restaurant. The room was fitted with a microwave, kettle and toaster plus cutlery etc. We kept our bikes, locked right outside our room, however the whole complex seemed to be very secure. Cars could be parked close to the rooms too. The staff were brilliant, we thought other reviews might have exaggerated, but it want the case. From the moment we arrived, they looked after us. They sorted out a visit from the bike rental man , internet, room safe, etc. They even pumped up one of our tyres when it went a bit flat (even though it wasnt there bikes). The restaurant was good. It was always quiet however the food was well prepared, and the staff were happy to get you anything . We enjoyed the breakfasts everyday (good selection) and had 3 dinners. Very inexpensive, Internet is available in the room but you pay per device. The signal can be a bit patchy , we found the laptop was a lot better than the iphone ! There is a small convenience store closeby for anything extra you need. We had to leave early on the last day to get our flight. The hotel made us up a packed breakfast, really nice touch. Overall, a really nice place for a break. (we didnt play golf but there seems to be loads of courses closeby) Collapse

This is located in a quite area near the Old course in Vilamoura. We had a car which was ideal for travelling around the Algarve. It would be about 30 mins plus walk to the Marina. The girl at the reception was really friendly and helpful. When we checked in, we were allocated one of the only apartments at ground level which was also near the pool which was great as we had an elderly person in the party. Plenty of car parking spaces. The shuttle bus service to the Marina or to the beach was very helpful. It runs 4 times a day. Now it is a pity that the last shuttle service comes back at 4.45pm I believe. It would be great if they had a later service to allow guests to stay abit later in the Marina. The apartments and studios are not all in top of each other. The room we had was very spacious with a wide-screen TV in the living room and bedroom. They would need to try and get a few more English and Irish TV channels. You will get BBC. Some of the channels scanned are not what comes up. We also had a balcony which was good for sitting out in the sun and it was very private. The bathroom was really well fitted with a double sink and plenty of hot water. The cleaning service was really good overall and we had new towels almost daily. Plenty of blankets and a really good heating and air con system. The kitchen and cupboards are dated and in need of modernising. Only one plug for your appliances. So when you are boiling the kettle you can't put toast on etc. The fridge does not have a freezer which would be good for people who are on self catering. The bar area could do with more atmosphere and is pricey and the WiFi should be free especially in the bar and common areas. Overall, it was reasonably priced, spacious, quiet and safe. I would definitely return to this hotel in the future. Collapse
