Firstly, I want to commend the staff that were working over the New Year whilst we were there. We found the receptionist Sophia particularly helpful, even going above and beyond when I enquiried if the hotel supplies any little bottles of body lotion. She explained that they didn't (tip no1, please provide lotion) and she said she would look to see if she had any in her handbag. Lovely gesture! There were two waiters, Fabio and Dario who were very attentive. We were half-board and I have to say value for money. Each night was a different menu. Choice of two starters (delicious soup or salad) choice of two mains ( fish or meat) I had a huge gorgeous salmon steak that deserves a mention. The mains were served on a large rectangular plate and was filled with fresh food. (Tip 2, have music playing in the restaurant please) Breakfast was equally plentiful. As it was quiet, the chef made us our hot breakfast to order. The food is usually in heated containers though. The room (525) was small but had everything we needed. It had a fridge which was fantastic to keep the cola and beer chilled! Kettle, crockery and cutlery were also included. The next commendation goes to the cleaners. Everywhere and I mean everywhere was spotless. (Tip 3, invest in some softer mattresses or mattress toppers as the beds were firm!) There are heavy blankets on the bed... took a bit of getting used to. It was like being transported back to 1970. Wifi is not free. They charge €3 per day or €6 for three days. It is possible to drive to Macdonalds in Vilamoura and hook up to their free wifi :) We didn't use the pools (1 large and 1 children's smaller) but they and the grounds were very well maintained. We hired a car from the airport but there is a minibus service that the hotel provides which goes to the coast (7 mins drive) a couple of times a day. The marina at Vilamoura is stunning but restaurants reflect the price of the view. Quarteira has a beautiful beach that is easy to get to and if it's a bit windy you can sit at one of the many cafe/restaurants on the front and be sheltered while being in the sun. Collapse

I recently had to visit this hotel when my dad had an accident at Espiche GC. My parents were staying at these apartments and the assistance they gave to my mum to contact myself, the hospital and the insurance company was 1st class. On my arrival the hotel gave me a room free of charge throughout my stay to allow me to assist my parents. Everyone from the manager who helped me to get my father to his room when he got out hospital, the receptionists, bar & restaurant staff and the cleaning staff were excellent. The apartments were well maintained and cleaned to a good standard. The food from the restaurant was of good quality, with a good choice a la carte menu as well as a fixed menu and all served with a smile. We will return to these apartments in the near future due to the staff and their attitude to providing excellent customer service. Once again thank you so much. Collapse

Perhaps I expected too much because of some of the rave reviews on here but I found this 3 star aparthotel distinctly 3 star. It is in a quiet location, which is just what we wanted and I was already aware that it was a long way from Vilamoura marina or beach. I would estimate that is is best part of an hours walk to either. But I had a hire car so no worries there. Be aware that although the hotel runs a mini bus service to the marina and beach it it really only twice a day (around 10 and 1) as the third trip is about 4 to pick up and if you go down on that you must make your own way back. The apartment was on 3 levels. 2 steps up from door to main room, 4 steps down to bathroom and then a further 6 steps down to bedroom. This was not only a major difficulty to my disabled wife but potentially very dangerous to a family with children. The lounge / diner has a table with 4 chairs, a single armchair and a bed settee. None of this could be described as comfortable but it is all functional although very plain. Strangely there is a large wardrobe in this room too, obviously for when the apartment has 4 occupants. The kitchen area (also in the lounge / diner) is totally inadequate. It consists of a sink and 2 burner electric hob and a small work surface (about 100 * 50) with a small kettle, toaster and microwave oven at just the right height to hit your head on (I know from personal experience) All 3 of these share 1 single socket so you can't make tea and toast simultaneously for instance. The small surface is just big enough to accommodate 2 plates to dish up so if you are a family of 4 you will have to dish up in turns. The bathroom is very big and is the best part of the apartment. The bedroom had twin beds which were very comfortable, another wardrobe and a chest of drawers. There is also a small armchair. In common with many of the apartments our faced North. This is probably really useful in the summer when you are looking for shade but meant that the apartment was quite cold in November although we had fantastic weather and it was hot outside. Sadly no sun penetrated the apartment. The lounge and the bedroom were both supplied with air conditioning units which we were able to use to heat the rooms. I can't comment on the restaurant as we didn't use it but it looked very nice. The only staff that we came into contact with were the room cleaners who were very friendly. The room was cleaned and beds made every day. So to sum up, a good 3 star but definitely not worth more. If you are here for the golf you probably don't care about any of the above and I'm sure you will have a great time. Collapse

Such a surprise when we arrived. This place is slightly tucked away but well worth it. Peaceful surroundings. Great studio room. Cleaned daily. Fresh towels daily if needed. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. 3 courtesy buses provided by hotel daily to the marina. Handy to local bus stops and spar shop within walking distance. Couldn't ask for better. In my opinion, Vilamoura is one of the best places to stay at the Algarve, being both in between Albufiera & Faro. This hotel is very quiet & a fairly good location. However, I must stress it isn't ideal if you're taking kids, as there isn't much to do in the hotel itself. Positives- Very good quiet location Apartments are of good size Very close to a Spar (about a 10 minute downwards walk) Close to bus stops that go to both Albufiera, Faro, Quarteira, Almancil etc (EVA buses, on a half an hour to hour basis) Free shuttle buses to the Marina which is very modernised & beautiful with plenty of restaurants & a nearby beach. Activities like jet skiing and fishing available to do at the Marina. Disadvantages- There are a few negatives, this is specific to my room, but the toilet smelled like it had not been cleaned for a few days. The wifi wouldn't work after a day, but they refunded my cost. The food is different everyday in terms of the meat & fish. But every portion comes with fries which you eventually get sick of. The breakfast wasn't the typical I was expecting, the sausages are like frankfurters type & the bacon more ham (more Portuguese style I'm guessing). My overall experience was very pleasing & I would most likely visit again, but self catering instead. Collapse
