Hotel was in a good location, but can be noisy at night with traffic and trams but ok if you don't open window and keep air con on! I wouldn't recommend to people with a walking disability as no lift, only stairs to 3rd floor. Hotel was clean and comfortable and good as base for seeing Krakow! As for tips on Krakow it gets very hot, so take shoes you know are comfortable for your feet, also remember it rains so take a brolly! Book your trips a day in advance, as normally you can't go the same day and it's easier to plan your weekend. Free walking trips are brilliant - bring money with you so you can donate at the end! Hi. Having just spent a 4 night stay in the Aparthotel Globus in Krakow. The journey from the Airport takes under 30min and my young driver gave me some tips on where to go and eat within the city and described the area we were travelling through and buildings occupied or built by the German Forces during their occupation of Krakow, in doing so the journey to hotel passed very quickly and soon my case and self landed outside the hotel. The hotel is placed on a very busy road junction, with city Trams and all types of vehicles passing which makes for a lot of traffic noise, I can sleep on a knife edge so this did not bother me and having a front room looking over Junction one could watch daily city life passing by. The hotel staff I found to be very helpful and friendly and any queries I asked were dealt with very quickly. The rooms if one is expecting all singing and dancing are basic with all requirements adequately there for ones stay, my own room was cleaned every day to a high standard and found very comfy indeed. Breakfast is served down stairs, but be warned this hotel has no lifts so if one is a tad infirm this would be a problem, a continental breakfast is given with plenty variety given just do not expect a full English. The Hotel is situated only ten to fifteen minutes walk away from the main square and very central to visiting many of the great sites to be found in Krakow, transport around plenty to choose from and places to eat out you are spoiled for choice. Great Hotel, great people, great food, and beautiful city of Krakow, would I stay in this hotel again Yes, it covered all my needs and more. Rab. To my replys below, I am sure if required dry cleaning would be sorted for you, no main meeting room, aircon top rooms only I believe, quaint, tidy hotel, quiet, yes from others staying, traffic noise no. Getting to hotel from airport is easy. Take the train to Kraków Glowny for 9 zloty single. Trains run from airport every half hour on the quarter past and quarter to the hour. Station houses massive shopping centre and food courts. Turn left at front of building and it's a ten minute walk via subway to Westerplatten St and straight ahead leads to Dielta St and Globus is on the corner. We were lucky to get Room 104 where there is a Juliet balcony so doors were swung open and there's another window to open so we didn't need air con. Room was comfortable, had everything we needed with tea, coffee, soap, shampoo and shower gel. More provisions available at reception if you need them. The breakfast still comes in a bag and is continental and edible enough. Room cleaned every day. On our arrival we were given a map and great directions to old town (10 mins) and Jewish quarter (7 mins) so we got our bearings very quickly. We loved the buzz of the trams and knew what to expect from other reviews. We recommend the Eco cart guided tour but haggle with the driver for a lower price. The hotel can organise tours but there are plenty of tour offices in town also. I recommend the Salt Mines which takes total of 4 hours out of your day. We were staying for 5 nights and very much enjoyed old town and Jewish quarter equally night or day. Lovely city and Globus may be dated but is roomy and comfortable. Collapse

My wife bought us a long weekend break to Krakow as I have wanted to go for years. She booked the Globus Rooms and what a disappointment it was. We was on the top floor which wasnt good but ok but when we got to the room it was like going back to the 70s, there was water brown stains on the ceiling, cracked walls on most sides of the room, stain on the carpet and blown wall paper where the plaster is crumbling behind it, the make do wardrobe was a joke it was a wooden rod which went to two shelves and that was it. The double room was small and the hotel is on a very busy road and when I tried to get the air con on I couldn't find the remote so asked reception and they said the engineer had taken the remote away for repair but I think they just lost it. We could have slept with the window open but my god was it noisy, you will need ear plugs if it's warm weather because the room gets very hot in the good weather and you need the window open to keep a bit cool. The one good thing was that the shower room / toilet was modern and clean but the bedroom was dingy and dirty looking and will definitely not be going back. The other rooms might be ok but room 301 was horrible. The owners were ok and the kitchen was still not up and running and they gave us a carrier bag with a few bits in to eat in our room but we decided to eat out. This hotel was only 10 minutes walk to the old market place but we looked around and there was definitely better hotels to chose from. Will search for a better hotel next time. Don't like leaving negative feedback back but the hotel room was awful. Collapse

Stayed three nights at the Globus, arranged collection at airport through the hotel on arrival waiting for us and a smooth ride to the hotel. Slightly disappointed on arrival to be informed breakfast restaurant was closed due to refurbishment. Given a choice of packed breakfast or allowance to eat somewhere in or around town, opted for the packed one. Our room was on top floor at the front, it was basic although looking rather tired but very clean, no problem as we were only going to sleep in it. There was a fair bit of traffic noise but when the window was closed not to bad. After a day walking round Salt Mines or Auschwitz and an evening of eating and drinking in Krakow's restaurants and pubs the trams could have driven through our room doubt if we would have noticed. The staff were excellent very helpful, when we mention our somewhat senior legs would prefer not to traverse the stairs for our packed breakfast immediately said would bring to our room at time of our choice, breakfast in bed can't be bad. Location of the hotel superb, 10 minutes square/old town slightly less Jewish Quarter. Certainly recommend it for a 3/4 night break would have given 5 stars but for the lack of a lift but you can ask for a lower floor, which we should have done, unfortunately for us hotel full so unable to change room.It didn't spoil our trip, Krakow is a fantastic place and this hotel is located in the right place to enjoy it. We were initially put in a front room and unfortunately the hotel was on a main tram intersection and busy road so the room actually vibrated and sleeping was impossible. We finally got moved to a back room which was a god send and although slightly noisy was so much better. We were booked in for bed and breakfast but found the breakfast was not possible due to restaurant being closed for refurbishment so were given a packed breakfasts of cold meats, cheese, bread , fruit, salad and a pastry to eat in our room - not ideal and did spoil the stay. They are going to have a major refurb of this hotel and advised us that new windows are going to be installed as they are aware that the noise especially in the front rooms is an issue Collapse
