I have booked this hotel for the anniversary of my girlfriend and myself and I have no regrets for this particular decision. This hotel is great in many ways: First of all is the perfect, very central and convenient location. You are literally close to many main view points, squares, attractions, sites, public transportation such as metro, tram and even a trains which connect between Lisbon and other cities such as Sintra in the west of the country. The hotel located within one minute walk from Rossio Railway Station. You just need to cross the pedestrian crossing that located next to the hotel - Very handy if you fancy a day trip outside of Lisbon. Second, the staff in the lobby and in the dining room were really pleasant and helpful. Third, the hotel and the room itself are spectacular! The breakfest is very fine and rich. In addition you can enjoy splendid view to the city whilst eating the breakfest. The room is cosy and and in general is just nice to be in it. There is also a nice view from the room to the city and a very little balcony (as much as I'm concerned it's only on the sixth floor). In conclusion, I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Utterly worth the money. Such a fun stay and experience. Collapse

Very Professional staff, always friendly and providing good recommendations and advice. Small but clean room, some more space to store and save personal belongings would be highly appreciated. Top location from which to explore the city either by walking or any sort of public transport. Breakfast buffet above average, restaurant and bar well equipped and nicely located at the top floor. We had two great stays at the Altis Avenida hotel on our recent trips to Lisbon. The hotel is very conveniently located with a lot of great shopping and dining options close by. You can walk out of the hotel and be in the pulsating heart of this incredible city. The hotel staff were very helpful and gave us great tips. They booked the Oceanarium tickets for us and had good suggestions for places to explore on our own and even oriented us to the public transport system. The breakfast is great. There is a nice bakery right next to the hotel. On the whole a great place to stay in Lisbon! Collapse

The Altis Avenida has comfortable rooms, accommodating service, and an ideal location for exploring Lisbon. Location: The hotel is about a 30-minute drive from the airport, depending on traffic, and is in on the edge of the city's historic core. Many of the city's most popular sights are within a 15-20 minute walk. The hotel is also near the subway. Design, rooms, and amenities: The property is a conversion of a 1950s office building. Rooms are comfortable, but dark and quite small. There is good soundproofing, and we were not disturbed by traffic from the major street just outside the hotel. The bathrooms are small, but functional. Housekeeping was efficient. Wifi worked well, and there's also a computer available for guest use in the lobby. The electronic key cards for our room's doors were very temperamental, and we had to have them replaced a couple of times. That type of problem seemed common many years ago, when the technology was still new, and we were surprised by the hassle. Food: The buffet breakfast in the top floor dining room has an acceptable range of offerings, and the food is fine. While breakfast isn't a strong point, you'll find something that will get you by. Service: While the service in the restaurant was a bit lackluster, the rest of the team - especially the bellboys - were extremely helpful and efficient. Everyone spoke English well, and was quick to help with bags, taxis, directions, etc. Overall, the Altis was a good base for our time in Lisbon. Collapse

We stayed here for almost a week in December. The hotel decor is very contemporary, the morning breakfast has a great spread and the service is excellent. The front desk staff gave us (RICARDO and Caterina) gave us some excellent recommendations on what to do on our free days. The location of this place couldn't be better. In the heart of Lisbon and well connected with the metro - most major sites are a quick walk. Excellent place, highly recommended! And oh, we celebrated a birthday there and they surprised us with a cake and gave my child some a free pack of the most adorable toiletries (she thought Santa had delivered another surprise to her all the way in Lisbon!)
