Pictures are very deceiving they made the hotel look ok and basic however when we got there my mother and grandmother had there own room which the bathroom ceiling was full of water and looked like it was going to collapse. The light had fell down with live wires absolutely soaked of with water which had flooded the bathroom floor, rang to tell reception they moved them to a family room (no 5) which was absolutely disgusting it was left as if someone had just came out of it as the sofa bed was all out and pillows all over the place. Very badly decorated marks all over the walls furniture falling apart fair to say this hotel is disgusting. My single room stunk of a foistey smell and very dusty shaven hair all over the bath and my kettle was broken hair all over the pillows and the carpet was filthy. Very disgusted at the standard of this hotel and would not recommend anyone staying here. We weren’t expecting a lot however this place is more like a hostel not a hotel. Collapse

We reserved and PAID for a room in advance due to the extreme weather conditions expected the day before our flight. We were told to ring the reception once on the train to Manchester Airport in order to use a specific taxi company. After three attempts, I reached the reception to be told that our booking could not be honoured as the hotel was overbooked and all of the rooms were already full. They said that they had no record of our booking but the money had already been taken from the account, and we have still not heard back about refund or compensation. As we arrived into Manchester at 10pm, we could not find anywhere else and had to resort to turning back and making the journey to the airport again the next morning. This was obviously extremely stressful and no help was offered by the hotel in finding us alternative arrangements. In fact, the receptionist didn't seem bothered in the slightest and repeated several times that there was nothing he could do and if we were to go to the hotel that we would be turned away. I was appalled by this service and would never book again at this hotel, or with this chain. To not control the amount of rooms booked through an online portal is shocking and something that should never be allowed to happen. Furthermore, to then take payment for this shocking service is just completely unacceptable. Collapse

I arrived at the hotel at around 10.15pm and was met by two members of staff who continued to talk amongst themselves for several minutes. When they eventually checked me in the double room I booked wasn’t available and they also informed me the free WiFi promised cost an extra £7. When I told the receptionist this he asked why I needed to use the WiFi at this time of night? Not really any of his business? In my room (which was large, clean but very poorly decorated) I found the room service menu which explained I should phone reception with my order. There was no phone in my room so I needed to go back to reception, where I was told that because it was 10.35pm I would have to wait until 11pm to order a pizza - and I would have to come back to reception to do that and eat in the lobby. At this point I was tired and wanted to relax but was still very hungry so had to do as reception said. The pizza was simple but very tasty. The evening receptionist also told me the shuttle service in the morning left on the hour and at half past and that I could decide in the morning which time I needed. I arrived in reception at 7.10am expecting to take the 7.30am shuttle only to be told I would have to wait until 8am. Many other guests were anxiously awaiting their own shuttles. It was a very nervous ride to the airport. The hotel itself is very basic and dated but this wouldn’t have bothered me if the evening staff hadn’t made my stay so uncomfortable. For £99 room cost, plus £7 WiFi, and a total of £25 in transport to and from the airport, I wish I had stayed elsewhere. I would not return. Collapse
Very average - you can get better for only £2 or £3 more in the same area

We stayed here the night before a flight. We arrived at 11.20 so the bar was closed but we were still able to get a beer and a pizza (those were the only options). The room was basic and tired. It was also cold (two small oil radiators in the room) and noisy as there were air conditioning units directly outside the room in the car park. Add to that our noisy neighbours with screamining child and it definitely wasn't a good nights sleep. Breakfast was ok(ish) - the food wasn't particularly hot but was edible; the waiting staff were miserable. The only jewel in the crown for this tired, budget hotel was Christian the night Manager. He obviously gets what customer service is and tried his hardest - sadly, in that environment the deck is stacked against him. Collapse
