This was my second stay at this hotel. The first time was eight years ago, before they became part of the Elite Hotels. The location is very central; walking distance everything central Stockholm has to offer; shopping, restaurants etc. and basically across the street from the Arlanda Express terminal. The central station is about a block away. My room was a standard single room which was furnished with a twin bed, an armchair and a desk with a chair. There was also a small wardrobe and a suitcase rack in the room. The room is small, but the space is well used and has everything you need if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room. Both the room and the en suite bathroom were impeccably clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent! Great choice of cheese, cold cuts, bread etc, as well as hot options as scrambled eggs and bacon and of course yoghurt, muesli and pastries. They have a good selection of drinks and if you want a more "fancy" coffee than the standard black coffee they serve cappuccino, latte etc at a (very reasonable) additional fee. Beware that the restaurant can get full during breakfast in the peak tourist season, but if the weather is nice I recommend taking advantage of their outside seating. Definitely a hotel I won't hesitate to stay at again. Collapse

We stayed here for 2 nights, as part of a Secret Escapes short package to Copenhagen & Stockholm. Firstly, what a great location. Just a few minutes walk on arriving from Denmark at the Central Station, and even closer to the Arlanda Express train to get out to the airport for the return flight. And we walked everywhere from the hotel, during our stay....all over Norrmalm, to Gamla Stan (the Old City), to Ostermalm, to hipster Sodermalm and even across to Djurgarden. The room - a Superior one - was excellent. A really comfortable bed, great bathroom and shower, quietly efficient air-conditioning, comfy armchair and a writing desk. But the highlight was the breakfasts. Eaten in the cool restaurant, the breakfast tables groaned with food options. Try the mustard herring, gravadlax, capers, gherkins and pickled cucumber, with rye bread, for a truly Scandi experience. Or a vast array of hams and cheeses for the contintental Europ option, or there's always the hot eggs, sausages and bacon if you feel you have to go the Brexit route. Staff on reception were very friendly and helpful, and extended our check-out time significantly on departure day, to allow for showers and the Wimbledon final. Hard to fault. Collapse

We stayed at the Elite Hotel Adlon after a RCC cruise. The hotel is close to shops, restaurants the Arlanda express train (can buy tickets at reception) and the bus to Arlanda Airport. Only use taxis with Taxi Stockholm 15 00 00 on the side or you could be ripped off Big Time. It is a fixed price to the airport and we paid 545 SEK for 4 passengers and 4 large suitcases. Receptionists Anastasia and Elvira were very helpful and happy to answer the many questions from first time visitors to Stockholm. The choice of food for breakfast was amazing, especially the pastries and cakes along with the meats and cheeses. An egg station would add to the choices as there was only scrambled or boiled eggs available. This is a suggestion only and certainly not a complaint. Catalina in the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. (Still waiting for the fruit cake recipe :-) . It was so moist and tasty. Our room was very large and the bed very comfortable. The shower was a very different design with the shower having 2 doors with minimal opening. This could be difficult for a larger person. The water ran under the doors and in to the main bathroom area. We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel and will certainly recommend to others. Collapse

I have been in Adlon during a business trip of 3 days in Stockholm. The hotel is very close to the arrival of the Arlanda express train that links Arlanda airport to Stockholm center, few meters away from the central train station, and in the middle of a very lively street full of shops and restaurants. Briefly: a perfect place where to stay if you come to visit Stockholm. The hotel room was on the first floor, view on the shops and offices of a side street. It was comfortable, very clean, with a good dimension, a desk with chair, TV, beds, closet and an armchair. The bathroom too was good, with a very large shower sheltered by a glass door (alleluyah! One of the few places where you can avoid to flood the room every time you take a shower) and good quality bath products (for an hotel). The staff is nice and welcoming and the breakfast is served in a very stylish bistrot in industrial and "fisherman" style, that opens to the public at 11:30. I loved this place with an atmosphere in between an upperclass bistrot and a fishmarket corner in the docks. Also I loved the varied and abundant buffet breakfast that was served. Bread, marmalades, cakes, biscuits, fruit, yogurt and cerelas for the sweetteeth, meet, eggs, vegetables, fish and cheese for the gourmands, and all the coffee, tea and fruit juice you might want. One of the best quality breakfasts I ever had in an hotel (and I travel A LOT ;) ) So why a rating of 4 and not 5? Because there are 2 bad points I never forgive to an hotel: 1 - the room was noisy. The windows don't keep out the noise well and this hotel is on a noisy road 2 - the white tents that close out poorly the sun in the morning. Bref: you wake up easily here and don't rest well. I noticed is common in Stockholm to find hotels with these problems. Maybe locally don't care, or it's a way to ensure that guest gets up, but in a country where in summer the sun arrives at 5, I claim my right to sleep and take a proper rest and I expect to be able to do it. So 4 for Adlon Elite that could have had 5. Collapse
