Came here by myself for the UCL match at the Bernabéu. This hotel is very well located with a metro station a few steps away and the stadium within 10-15 minutes walk. I’m a gold member and always stay at Marriott properties when traveling for business mostly in the US. Check-in was good although it could’ve been speedier. The rooms are very nice but, at least the one I got, was very noisy during the day. Despite being the farthest one from the elevator and on the 10th floor. I requested an earlier check-in which I got since I arrived early in the day and needed to do some work. The setup in the room is pretty good for this although the internet connection could be better. I worked in my room for about 4 hours so I ended up drinking the one nespresso capsule that was in my room and the one club soda in the minibar fridge. Now with the weird stuff... can you believe that the lobby bar closes before midnight?! In Madrid?! On game night?! And I say before midnight because there were no waiters to be seen since 11:20pm. Then they showed up at 5 to midnight and started cleaning up. “Nope. We’re closed.” he said without even looking up at me from behind the bar. Ok, I thought. I’ll just go to my room and call room service to refill the minibar since all I wanted was club soda. Nope. There’s no sodas after midnight either. Mind you, it is 15 minutes past midnight. It’s not like it’s 4 am... front desk says they’ll find out and call me back. 45 mins later no call back. So I cal them back. No answer. I wait a minute and call reception again. Again, no answer. On the third call someone picks up and pretends to not know what I'm talking about. Then he puts me with the person I apparently spoke to about an hour ago and he says that my phone must not be working because he tried calling me… Right. In any other hotel, someone would've been sent up to my room to let me know but not here. Anyway, getting that soda is out of the question... They did however send me a bottle of regular (non-fizzy) water with room service. For 9 Euros when the ones in the minibar were priced at 2.50… This is so un-Marriot to be honest. And I think that what bothers most is their attitude. It feels like they’re saying: “screw you, it’s YOUR problem, not ours...” really disappointing. I won’t be returning to THIS property again whenever I’m back for other games. I did stop by the front desk the following morning and let the manager know about these incidents. She was receptive and apologetic. She did acknowledge that the bar's closing time is quite ridiculous (especially on game nights) but out of their control. And she waived the charge for the bottle of water which is why they get 3/5… Collapse

I stayed at this hotel during a very cold week in February with almost unprecedented snow on one day which virtually paralysed a city unaccostumed to such events. The hotel is comfortable with the big advantage of a large, comfortable reception area where one can just relax in comfy chairs and read the newspapers, use your laptop's etc. The restaurant menu is fairly basic and prices are not cheap. Rooms are very comfortable - I was on the top floor so traffic wasn't a nuisance, although I believe it can be lower down. I had intended to plug my iPad into the socket at the main desk and sit down to send emails, but a - no socket, and b - no chair! Fortunately there is a settee with a table, providing your pc lead stretches far enough! Staff were very pleasant and helpful, although when staying on for my last day until late afternoon I was told I could change my clothes in the very cramped downstairs toilets! No day room, as some hotels have. Breakfast is exorbitantly priced if you just want a coffee and croissant. Plenty of places around, but not when it is 1 degree below freezing! Collapse

We faced no problems during our stay. The breakfast was relatively ok as it didnt differ so much from hotels. We had a late bus going from madrid, thankfully the staff was very helpfull with keeping out luggages. I would stay again and recommend to my friends and families =) Collapse

I expected the AC hotel, being part of the Marriott chain, to have a certain standard, and this hotel certainly met it. The hotel was not huge, yet gave a sense of spaciousness, due to the very pleasant decoration throughout. My check-in was easy and the public areas interestingly and well laid out. They, as well as my room, were spotless. My room was very comfortable indeed, with all the lovely bathroom extras one expects of a hotel of this quality. I first thought of the bed 'uh oh, the usual southern European hard mattress', and yet I slept very well. The desk was small but big enough for my laptop, and it was pleasant to have my own in-room Nespresso machine. No tea, but this is Spain! The shower was great. The breakfast has a good range, and I very much liked the several coffee stations (machines) where you could get machine coffee and tea. There was a nice mix of hot and cold food, and the selection of fresh fruit was good. Checkout was again very swift. The hotel is near the Cuzco metro stop, so you are about 15-20 minutes to the airport. Collapse

Awesome hotel to stay at if you are a futbol fan. The Santiago Bernabéu stadium is within walking distance from the hotel. Hotel staff was very helpful and kind. Room was clean and perfect for the occasion. The view from our room was perfect.
