I picked up the place for the pool size and I confirm a nice pool: I could make laps everday. The hotel has another but smaller pool inside, next to the gym and a sauna. The room was new, well designed equipement, such as the usb connector near the bed. Quiet and effective AC. The staff was very attentive and made me feel welcome. I observed the team cleaning seating place near the lobby, doors and mirrors in the lift, one daily basis. Definitively on my list dor the next trip in Juan-les-Pins Collapse

This was our second visit to this hotel in the last year. The Hotel was kept nice and clean, the city view room we had was more than adequate and all staff were keen to help. A special Thank You to Marie on reception, who went out of her way to help with advice on restaurants, bars, trains etc., nothing was too much trouble. Lovely to see Gladys again who after a year still remembered our names. Always served and helped us with a lovely smile. Last but not least a big, big thank you to Evy. Manager of pool, breakfast area. Who tried so hard to keep everyone happy when clearly there were not enough sunbeds around the pool area, many were also broken. If you are going to this hotel for a sunbathing holiday in July and August, the pool area does get very busy with people putting towels on sunbeds before breakfast. We went to the hotels private beach but you do have to pay for sunbeds on the beach which start from 25 euros per person. If you fancy early evening cocktails, there are plenty of bars on the beach promenade area who charge 5 euros for a cocktail between 3 and 8 o clock. From the hotel you can walk into Antibes which is approx a 10/15 min walk. Worth a visit or go on the 'little train'. Only disappointment that someone else has also commented on, we stayed at this hotel neatly two weeks ago yet the credit card preauthorisation charge of 250 Euros is still lodged on my credit card despite having paid my bill in full. Why? Collapse

Before we go any further, we have to say that we LOVE this Hotel and we will go back time and time again without any hesitation; facilities are in excellent order and it is in the ideal position close to the centre of Juan-les-Pins, but not too close. Having said that, the quality of service provided by the staff which was so impressive when the Hotel was taken over by Marriott and in the process of being renovated two years ago, has fallen dramatically compared with our last visit, other than the staff around the Pool area. We arrived and were given almost the same room as when we were there last time - penultimate floor, facing the Conference Centre - benefits from sun in the afternoon/evening and is quiet compared to the road-facing side. As this was a special occasion, prior to our visit I had asked about arranging for some flowers in the room (at my cost) - nobody replied to my e-mail, however when we arrived there was a complimentary bottle of Mumms Champagne in our room, which was an excellent touch and gratefully received, even if we didn't know it was a gift to us from the Hotel until I finally got through to Reception (the accompanying note was pushed under the door the next day). Since we were last here, all the building/renovation work has been finished to a high standard (although we did have the mandatory power-cut for a short while), with new patios next to the Bar and the Dining Room. Now we come to the issues - while the Hotel itself is excellent, there are clearly staffing issues - until we complained, the room wasn't made up until after 5 p.m. each day (when it still wasn't done after 6:15 p.m. one day, we decided enough was enough and called Reception who, to their credit, sent somebody up straight away). At the breakfast room, which spreads out onto the patio when sunny, new staff had obviously been added with little training - some were working solidly all the way through the breakfast service, offering help whenever they could, but there was one girl in particular who, when asked by another guest to clear a table, just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. She improved over the 10/11 days that we were there, however over the last few days we had the comical spectacle of one waiter continually going around setting tables and this girl following him to strip the tables back again. Also re the breakfasts, items regularly ran out and for the most part were not replenished without guests asking. Moving on, while the bar service at the pool was excellent, the main Hotel bar itself was staffed by somebody who it seems did not know what a cocktail is - we would happily have gone to the Bar for an aperitif or a night-cap most nights, but on the first night that we went, my wife and I, using our best French (I have a degree in French and have lived and worked in France, and my wife is a Graduate of the Sorbonne), ordered a Vodka Martini and a Kir Royal a la Peche (Champagne and Peach) - somehow the waiter decided to give a whole new spin to a Vodka Martini - James Bond may only know of the "shaken or stirred" option - this guy had a whole new angle - pouring a room-temperature full measure of Dry Martini and a measure of Vodka into a glass and putting a stirrer into it - no ice, lemon, olive - naturally it tasted disgusting unless you like the overwhelming flavour of luke-warm Vermouth. If we thought that was bad, my wife's Kir Royal a la Peche turned into a peach-flavoured iced tea without the ice. We pointed out where the barman had gone wrong - he looked confused - and we walked away never to return to the Bar, leaving the awful mess for him to clear up - needless to say, we were still charged for the wrong drinks! Lesson learnt - we never returned to the Bar again and certainly won't use the Bar the next time we visit. Now here we come on to something which doesn't have a rating option on Tripadvisor and which could be considered - the quality of the guests:- The Hotel has abandoned the concept of mini-bars since we last visited and now has an empty fridge in each room which can be used by guests - the thinking being that guests will buy drinks, etc., from the small shop in Reception. What in fact happens is that guests buy food and drink from outside the Hotel and use the fridges to store this - but when they have finished, and rather than being honest about what they have done, they leave the empty bottles and food containers outside other rooms, or by the lifts, so as not to be embarrassed - this is all well and good, but almost every day there was rubbish outside our room and on a few occasions trash left by the lifts was still there 2 or 3 days later. Some of the other guests then excelled themselves by bringing a package holiday mentality to a quality 4-star Hotel, by reserving sun-beds around the pool from first light, frequently not using them all day (the Hotel tried to set a 15-minute limit on unattended beds, but how this was to be policed was not clear). Others then felt that it was acceptable to play with balls and lilos in the Pool, regularly splashing other guests and thinking it funny - maybe we shouldn't have come this close to High Season (note to selves). And now the final issue - birds - if you watch Hitchcock's "The Birds" and can't sleep afterwards, then maybe this Hotel isn't right for you - each day we had Breakfast outside on the Patio, and each day any unattended food was leapt upon by a flock of pigeons and the occasional seagull. The staff tried to keep them away, but each time to no avail, the pigeons regularly landing on trays of cutlery which was subsequently used. Looking back on it, we should probably have eaten indoors, as for the last week of our trip and for a few days after our return, we both suffered from severe stomach disorders, my wife filling a sick-bag on the flight home (I have never seen anybody use a sick-bag on a flight before!); it may be that we ate something outside the Hotel, but the fact that we both went down with this bug, and kept having repeated doses, and that the pigeons were on every table as soon as any food was left, inherently becomes a health concern, even though the waiters were spraying the tables down each time they set them up for the next guest. As to solutions, it will be difficult to keep these birds away without some action - maybe an ultra-sonic deterrent? Even in our room, when I left a sandwich on the balcony table, a seagull dashed in, had ripped apart the covering and eaten my sandwich within 30 seconds. So all in all, the Hotel is in a great position, has excellent facilities and some well-trained and conscientious staff, but whereas on our last visit we were praising the staff and had issues with parts of the Hotel, this time the exact opposite applies! Maybe on our next visit (and yes, in spite of our many criticisms, we will be back [with a few reservations re use of the Breakfast Patio area and the main Bar]), both the Hotel and the Staff will hit a high simultaneously - we can but hope! Booked this for myself and a colleague for a reference visit at a local French company, as it was fairly close to where we would go, and the people arranging the meeting had recommended it. The hotel is more or less a typical US-influenced style hotel (not that this is a bad thing), and check-in was hassle-free. I got a room fairly high up (not beach view) which was spotlessly clean and with well-functioning air conditioning. The room seemed recently renovated, and with a large balcony and a nice (but small) bathroom with all necessary amenities. As often seen in France, the WiFi was not free - when travelling on business, this is a must. But then again, most likely this hotel is not primarily intended for business travelers. And after EU regulations on roaming, the costs does not match with the data you can pull by your own mobile. Sleep quality is excellent - and I slept like a log all night. The hotel is fairly close to the beach and the bustling down town in the resort area, filled with restaurants and bars. The beach seemed nice in the evening, and I guess it is the same during the day. Breakfast is quite good - fine selection of different things to choose from - and excellent coffee served by the very helpful and accommodating staff. Parking is available below the hotel - unfortunately the signposting of the correct way to the reception is not up to par - so we exited behind the pool area... Nice experience. Collapse
