Presentation over Content - poor is an understatement. 2 star is generous.

I am writing this as I am sat in my room at this hotel as there seems to be a number of fundamental problems with this hotel. Upon check in at 22:00, we were advised we had been upgraded to a suite because the stay was for a special occasion and there would be a pleasant surprise for us when we go to the room. There was no recognition of my Marriott Platinum status but this wasn't a major issue, its nice to have a hotel recognise loyalty. Plus I like to earn my points with each stay, so I asked if my number was on the system to be told 'yah we got it ere' We were excited and went up to the room to find it was a normal room with a double bed. There was also no surprise apart from an empty glass on the desk. I attempted to turn the lights on and half of them appeared to work. Now being a hotel I do not visit regularly, I called to ask if there were any special methods to turn the lights on and was told 'they are working'. The lady attempted to tell me how to turn a normal light switch on. This took around ten minutes until she understood I know how a light switch works. Eventually she said she would arrange for maintenance to attend. We then asked for recommendations for dinner and the lady advised the restaurant was open until 11pm and the lobby bar was serving food until midnight. We went down to the lobby bar as it was now 22.45. The bar staff advised they are not serving food anymore and we should speak to reception. When speaking with reception, they advised we can order from a local takeaway, which we did. The food arrived at 23:50 and payment had to be made in cash only and it was not possible to get a receipt. Luckily the hotel had an ATM. We then decided to shower before sleeping to find the shower was spraying water to the sides, the glass panel and the wall but not downwards to the person beneath it. Again, I raised this with reception who advised there was no fault with the shower and that I was using it wrong. They then agreed to call maintenance to the room. I at this stage asked for bath robes and slippers - they advised the hotel does not have any. This was a first for any of the Marriott group properties I have stayed at, globally. They did offer to send more towels as there was only one in the room initially, so I agreed and we were sent a pile of towels. This was a surprise. The towels were word beyond belief and in a poor state. One had holes in it and the others were worn to the point that it might as well be a sheet. I think the towels have been there since the hotel was opened in 2011. At this stage we were tired and called it a night. I set the air conditioning to 21 degrees as the room was quite warm, and the air conditioning did not work. Again, I called and was told I didn't know how to use it and I should rotate the dial until it pointed to 21. After explaining no less than 10 times I have done this, I was promised maintenance would come to the room and resolve it. Then came this morning. Maintenance had not visited at all. We got ready and headed to the city. Upon our return, the room was in the same state - a bad state of repair, but the bed had been made. No toiletries were replaced, the same empty bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were there, The empty glass from when we checked in was still there and the problems were still present: 1. No Air Conditioning 2. Half of the lights still did not work 3. Shower was spraying everywhere except for the human beneath it. I now sit here typing this review as the hotel is beautiful on the outside - the presentation is great, but when you stay, the content is shockingly poor. How Marriott even associates itself with this particular AC hotel is a surprise as this hotel is an embarrassment to any chain. The staff have clearly not communicated any of our issues and are too embarrassed to talk about them. When I asked reception about them today, they seemed to ignore them all and all of a sudden they could not speak or understand English. Where I heard them communicate with the guest ahead of me clearly in English. Communication is selective. I have lost over 2 hours trying to explain my issues and undergo 'telephone training' on how to use a light switch, shower and Air Conditioning units that were faulty. Staying in Marriott brands globally for more than half the calendar year, I can safely say I know how the basics above work. You would be foolish to stay here if you didn't want your intelligence insulted. Oh, the the special occasion gift never appeared, nor did the false promise regarding an upgrade to a suite as promised at check in. Collapse

Very pleasant stay, all staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and varied, take advantage since scandinavian prices are quite high. A short distance out of town but the Metro is only about 300M away and then it takes around 10 min to get into central Copenhagen. We slept well and although there is ambient music din the corridors it cannot be heard in the rooms. Rooms are fine, beds comfortable and bathroom well designed with a good shower. Only gripe which stopped 5 stars was that the room was stale when we arrived and since the windows do not open it took a while to freshen up. If we visit Copenhagen again then we will certainly book again. Collapse

I had a chance to stay in AC Hotel Bella sky by Marriott in Copenhagen, Denmark last November 2017. It was an awesome, wonderful experience. The hotels' futuristic architecture is astounding, service is impeccable from the reception to the room that we stayed in. It has modern touch with a perfect view of the Copenhagen tourist spots such as Church of our Savior tower. Train station is less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Airport is 7 minutes ride. And just a station away to Fields Mall. If you are looking for a perfect hotel to stay in Copenhagen, i highly recommend AC hotel Bella sky by Marriott. Collapse
