This is a lovely hotel converted from an old warehouse. Right on the waterfront and just steps from Nyhavn, you couldn't ask for a better position. Our bedroom was very nice: all exposed beams and quirky features and the bed was very comfortable and cosy - didn't want to get up on Sunday morning to venture back out into the cold! However, breakfast that morning was excellent, with a full spread of fruit, breads, pastries, meats and cheeses and hot food, along with yogurts and smoothies. The only downside for me was the hotel bar. This is run as a separate venture to the hotel and consequently sets its own opening and closing hours and won't allow you to charge drinks to your room. This proved to be a bit of a problem on Saturday night when returning after dinner and fancying a nightcap before turning in. It was just before 11pm and we were told that the bar closed at 10:30, so they could only serve us one drink, which had to be beer. This then changed to beer and shots, and then coffee as well, but all very reluctantly. We were lucky though - some people came in a few minutes after us (bearing in mind this would have been just after 11pm) and were actively refused anything other than tap water. This was a real surprise and a real shame. It didn't spoil the trip by any means, but it was a bit of a black mark on an otherwise unblemished scorecard. Collapse

A truly world class toilet experience. 71 Nyhavn really pulled it out the bag with their new bathroom / toilets. Heated flooring sets the scene in this cosy toilet while premium contemporary taps with an exquisite gold finish really makes for a premium experience in the comfort of your en suite room. Copenhagen is known for it's cold winter months so it's a welcoming environment to call home for a few days. A private experience and one I'll remember for a long time. 5/5 toilet and the proud winner of the: 2016 Bog Squad "Bog of the City | Copenhagen (Hotel Category)" award. Collapse

I used to stay at this hotel about 10 - 12 years ago as my company used it as standard. I remember that i liked it then and now i decided to try it again. I have to say that it is a great hotel with an architecture and inside quality that i really like. It is an old warehouse close to the channel in the middle of the older part of Copenhagen. The room i had was really nice as well as the hotel facilities. I went out for dinner and it is a lot of very cosy places to choose between jjst outside of the hotel. Walking along the channel is also nice, even if i guess it is even nicer in the warmer part of the year. After this experience i have decided that i will try to skip the Radisson and Hilton in Copenhagen and go back to this hotel again. Collapse

Located right on the waterfront of the old harbor, you step out the front door, turn left, and there is the Nyhavn (the New Harbor ... actual quite old and picturesque), with its old sailing boats, modern canal tour boats, and floating restaurants (older boats converted). It's what I imagined what Denmark should look like. Step out the back door, and you see the National Theater and across the harbor is the Opera House. Within walking distance of the hotel (one mile or less) is tourist highlights of the city, including (but not limited to) The Little Mermaid, the Kastellet (star shaped fort), the Amalienborg Royal Palace, the Rosenborg Castle, Stroget Street (pedestrian shopping street), Christianborg Castle, the old and new Stock Exchange, Free Town Christinia, and of course Nyhaven Harbor. Want a place to eat, within 100 yards of the hotel there are at least 5 restaurants, triple that number within 200 yards. You cannot get a better location. The hotel is an old converted warehouse, very well maintained inside and out. The Lobby was nice, functional, pleasant to sit and rest while waiting for our guide, but not otherwise noteworthy. They were remolding part of the building while we were there so perhaps we did not see it’s best face. But even with the construction, the lobby and our room were very quiet. The Room was average size for Europe (smallish by American standards) with the windows in the room quiet small (2’ by 2’), but remember this is a converted warehouse and the window openings, as well as exposed beam ceiling are all original. They offer a breakfast buffet, again average for Europe, but certainly more than what we would in the States would call a “continental breakfast”. There is no room service, though the staff were very helpful when we asked for extra pillows, towels, etc. American English language skill of the front desk staff was exceptional, I actual thought that they were expats from California (no, native born Danish and quite proud of it). Long story short, perhaps the best location in Copenhagen, the hotel is very nice, functional, attentive to your needs, with just a bit of Danish charm, but... just a bit. Again, once the remodel is done, perhaps more will be done in the “charm” department. Yes, I would go back to 71 Nyhavn, in a heartbeat. Collapse
