out of 5Arrived at ellersly house hotel Friday afternoon swift check in and up to room. The glencoe suite was a large room with 3 windows looking over the grounds, extra king size bed, settee, walk in cupboard but rather cramped bathroom. The staff were very helpful, the buffet breakfast was very good and breakfast times were adjusted to suit new year revellers. The public rooms are more than adequate and the hotel has a well stocked bar. It's a comfortable 30-40 min. Walk to town but there's good bus services and a day rider ticket was £3.20 for unlimited travel. Edinburgh zoo is a short walk away. For rugby fans, murrayfield stadium is a 5 min walk from the hotel. In conclusion a well staffed, comfortable hotel in a good location. Recommended.
