About Love Never Dies
Set ten years after The Phantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies the musical rekindles the Phantom’s deep obsession with the beautiful and talented Christine Daaé. When Christine receives an anonymous invite to sing in the exciting new Phantasma at Coney Island she travels with her family to New York, only to discover on arrival that her host is the Phantom and he wants Christine for himself.
Chased out of Paris ten years ago the Phantom, with the aid of Madame Giry and Meg, escaped to America and created his own gothic theatre Phantasma. Hiding amongst the freaks and quirks of Coney Island the Phantom tries to sooth his breaking heart. With all his thoughts and desires pinned on Christine the Phantom cannot wait for his love to return and draws her to America so he may win her heart again. When Christine arrives, with her husband Raoul and their son Gustave old memories are brought back to life, bringing hidden feelings to the surface and causing rifts in both their worlds. The Love Never Dies musical is a passionate tale of true love, the trusts that are broken and the hearts that are left behind.
Andrew Lloyd Webber began working on the Love Never Dies musical in 1990, though it wasn’t until 2007 that he began writing the music. Love Never Dies opened at the Adelphi theatre in 2010 and is the first time a sequel has been performed in the West End. After receiving 7 major Laurence Oliver Award nominations and winning two 2011 Whatsonstage.com awards Love Never Dies is looking forward to an even bigger 2011. Ramin Karimloo will continue to star as The Phantom and will star alongside Celia Graham as Christine with Haley Flaherty, David Thaxton and Liz Robertson, this exciting new cast will take to the stage from Monday 7 March.
Please Note: Ramin Karimloo will no longer be playing the Phantom in Love Never Dies, Monday or Thursday performances. Cast members can not be guaranteed for every performance.
