out of 5Our reason for staying at the Columbia hotel was to visit the castle of Mey, however the hotel room although comfortable was let down by the shower cubicle, it was in need of refurbishing. This hotel is obviously used for coach parties on one night stops and city visits and the car park being 200m away from the reception would deter us from staying again.

out of 5Stay in Columba hotel. Good location, breakfast good, got room facing Inverness castle very good view especially at night. Would not rate 4 star, max 3 star. Loch ness cruise definately recommend also suggest walk along River Ness. Downside shops close early about 5.30pm and restaurant 11pm.

out of 5The Columba hotel looked tired and in need of TLC. Could see no sign of the recent refurbishment stated in your guide. No way was it 4 star standard!

out of 5Following a leisurely train journey from York to Inverness, we easily found our centrally located hotel on the banks of the River Ness with great views towards the Castle. We hired a car and drove to the beautiful Isle of Skye, stopping off for the numerous photo opportunities and a brief stop in Plockton, palm trees and all. Returning to Inverness, Eilean Donan should not be missed, particularly stunning against a clear blue sky or sunset and then followed the road along Loch Ness back to the city. The following day consisted of a cruise on Loch Ness, followed by a walk around Inverness and the Ness Islands. Early evening we took the Crime & Punishment Walking Tour with Happy Tours and Cameron's enthusiasm cannot be faulted, followed by a lovely meal at The Corner Grill where my steak was cooked to perfection. Finally we finished the night in McNabs which had been pretty much taken over by men in kilts, who were in Inverness as part of the Culloden Commemoration. A lovely end to a wonderful weekend - and yes, we will be back.

out of 5Our hotel room was lovely. The view from the window onto the river Ness was superb. Hotel very comfortable. Hotel location very convenient 3 mins walk into City Centre yet in a lovely location looking over the river Ness. Our day out to see Culloden Moor was excellent. Lots more to see and do but didn't have enough time, we will be returning to Inverness.
