out of 5Hotel very conveniently situated close to city centre, (downside was that it's on a busy road, though the double glazing coped with the noise - a good idea to request a room on the upper floors though). Hotel decor a little 'tired', (worn carpets, old fashioned bathrooms etc), but clean and warm with plenty of hot water. Breakfast good and staff very friendly, helpful and efficient, which, together with it being great value for money, more than offset any shortcomings.

out of 5Hotel in great location for walking the city. This hotel was very comfy with superb staff and wonderful cooked breakfasts to order. Ok the rooms could do with some more modern facilities but everything was clean and is an old coaching house so should retain some character. Great value and we would, without question, return.

out of 5We went to Durham for a nice relaxing weekend and we certainly got that. It happened to coincide with a "punk" rock weekend, but this only made the weekend more enjoyable. Durham has plenty of places to visit, plenty of shops (not so good for the males) plenty of good eating places and lots of very old drinking establishments with fabulous views over the river.
