out of 5The westmorland hotel was in a good location, easy to get to, quite central for us for getting to the lakes for walking. Hotel accomodation was excellent, very clean, appeared recently updated but not sure, room a nice size and very comfy bed. Free wifi access a bonus and very good service. We didn't eat at the hotel but the food we saw people eating looked nice. We ate at lucy4 wine bar/bistro/tapas and it was out of this world. Best tapas ever had, highly recommended. Not the cheapest but excellent food and service.

out of 5Our second January trip to the Lake District for a spot of walking and R & R. This year was drier and two good walks were managed. This left less time for retail therapy so costs were less than last year. The Westmoreland Hotel was easy to access and the accomodation was excellent as were the facilities.

out of 5We had booked an overnight stop on a long car journey. This made the journey much more enjoyable. The rooms were good sized and there was a welcoming log fire. A bonus was the unexpected discount voucher for the nearby farm shop.The only criticism is that they could not manage toasted brown bread despite offering it but I suppose that all toast is brown when it comes out of the toaster!
