out of 5A very convenient centraly located hotel that is adjacent to the railway station and town centre. The Hotel acccomodation is good but a little worn. There are many local attraction including the Carlisle - Settle railway, the castle and Hadrians Wall. The Lake District is within a couple of hours travelling. The slight downsides are the noisy town centre 'nightlife' after midnight and the barely adequate parking at the hotel - although public car parks (Pay & Display) are very close
