out of 5Had an overnight stay at Leeming House, Ullswater, as a 60th birthday treat. Was overjoyed to have been upgraded to an executive suite with french windows opening on to the gardens and leading down to the lake. Also with table and chairs on it's own small terrace. The views from the room were superb with mountains opposite on the other side of the lake. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and courteous and service was excellent. Found the stay very relaxing and enjoyed every minute of it. Would certainly use the hotel again and recommend it to others. Thank you for an excellent stay.

out of 5We went to Lakedistrict to walk --not up hills but by lakes.Great time with breathtaking views. Good pubs at Dockray Pooley Bridge Ambleside and Hardstone Pass. Hotel had great views of the lake and you could just walk round the gardens.

out of 5The whole experience was amazing,from the minute we reached our destination to the moment we left. The lakes are a different world away from the rat race of the cities and towns. The break was just what the doctor ordered. We felt as though a weight had been lifted and have never felt so relaxed and at peace.The English countryside is gorgeous and we would strongly recommend it. Thank you Superbreak and the macdonald hotels group for making this break so memorable.
