out of 5We were most courteously received and shown to a lovely sumptuously furnished and spacious room. (we were given an upgrade as the hotel was not full, and the weather was very wet). A glass of sherry awaited us in our room. We had afternoon tea in the dining room overlooking the lake - a memorable experience. We did not take dinner - not hungry - but the menu was very tempting. A lovely relaxing venue and beautiful surroundings. I would love to go again when we have saved up!.

out of 5We began the day with the famous Sharrow Bay Breakfast. Then drove to Bank House to begin our walk. We had glorious views of Lake Ullswater and got quite a good workout walking from Howton to Glenridding. We just made the steamer ride back to Howton and enjoyed a well deserved pint while enjoying the view from the other side. We then went back to the hotel to prepare for a dinner we thought we had earned that day. The food and service were outstanding as was the company we kept. The other guests were congenial and a grat evening was had by all.

out of 5The only problem was Superbreak failed to tell us that we were being put in a gate house 10 mins walk fromn the main buildings. Luckily Sharrow Bay were brilliant and changed rooms because we are a regular visitor
