out of 5The hotel was lovely, we had a fantastic room and bathroom, spotlessly clean, kingsize bed, we could not fault it. We tried the restaurant in the evening at hardwick hall and we were not impressed at all. I had a very mediocre leek & poato soup followed by grilled halibut which was the smallest portion I have ever had (£15.95) plus vegetables were extra. My husband had a steak which was better value but they forgot the chips and when they came were cold. I ordered asparagus and almost raw leeks came up which we sent back. They did knock that off the bill. We had no wine just soft drinks no desserts and the bill was £50.00. Poor value for money. The first morning breakfast was good. I had overdone kipper but my husbands full english was good. Sunday & monday were busy and it was a buffet (not good) though in fairness we could have ordered something else. The staff were excellent, pleasant and polite at all times and did their best to mkae our stay enjoyable which it was.

out of 5We had a really good weekend, the hotel was very central to lots of attactions, and the walk round the lake in front of the hotel was very relaxing. In all we would recommend this hotel.
