out of 5Would recommend the Holgate Hill Hotel to anyone wanting a short break in York. Within easy walking distance (about 15 minutes) of York city centre. Friendly staff, clean rooms, lovely breakfast, off-road parking.

out of 5The hotel was past its heyday but good for all that. The staff were excellent. We had to change our booking at short notice and they were very helpful with out which we would have missed our break. They opened up a double room where a single was booked. Free upgrade. The hotel is an easy walk from york but you need good legs as you are on your feet all day.

out of 5This is our 5th year of staying in York and this was by far the most comfortable hotel. The hotel was very clean and the public areas very fresh. All the staff we met were very friendly and the breakfasts and snacks were good and there was a nice bar to have a drink in the evening. The beds were very confortable and clean.
