out of 5The grange hotel was genuinely four star with an excellently appointed room and a superb bathroom. We were enthused by the built in tv at the foot of the bath. Less than ten minute walk to the minster. Easy car parking at the hotel (free) this was a first visit to York. We had three nights and were fully occupied on each of our two full days. The york pass was not good value for money (£30 each).

out of 5Thank goodness the weather reports in the uk in November are so inacurate! We were promised wall to wall rain and we got lovely sunshine instead. We made the most of it with an open top bus tour to get our bearings - traffic in York is horrendous, so be patient!. The minster is a must along with the shambles and general shopping in York is excellent, but give the Jorvic center a miss and go for the castle museum instead, what a gem and loads for kids of all ages to do; we espically liked the day and night views of the victorian street, excellent! The people and the atmosphere was excellent so book your trip now!!.

out of 5I often visit York to unwind and enjoy walking around the city, often dropping into the numerous refreshment establishments. A fantastic city, bursting with history and nostalgia. Plus bargains a plenty at the designer outlet. I will definitely be going back.
