We visited york from the 6th to 10th of june. We stayed at heworth court hotel which was only a 15 min walk from the centre of york. The hotel was rated 4 star but the room we had was in the attic and it was more like 1 or at the most 2 star the room was dated with old blinds at the window and no curtains. When the sun came up at 4.30am the room was filled with daylight. The weather was not very warm and the room was stifling. I would hate to stay there when it was really warm. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was really good. Would not stay at this hotel again as i don't think these rooms should even be used. Loved york it is a beautiful city with so much to see and do and the people are lovely. On our first night we went to the royal oak for dinner and the food was excellent and we ended up going back every night.

Beautiful city, very friendly with lots to see. Enjoyed all the attractions and the shopping. Evrything was within walking distance, including the hotel which was clean, warm and cosy. Asked for a quiet room and got it, woke to the sound of birds. Excellent visit.

This was a weekend break at the end of a long summer. We chose York have visited a few years ago. A spur of the moment choice led us to the Heworth Court hotel. We did not know the hotel or even where it was located. So our arrival included a small amount of trepidation. Even if couldn't find the car park, the reception started with the standard of service we recived all through our stay. Friendly, knowledgeable, showing us to our room which was situated in the courtyard. The room was clean and very comfortable. We did not know how far we were from York city centre, but a comfortable stroll and 15 minutes later we passed the city walls. The morning brought breakfast when then staff could not do enougfh for you, and the breakfast was well cooked and filling. We will visit York again and look forward to staying at the Heworth Court Hotel. And would recommend both the city and the hotel to anyone.
