Short Break in Stratford Upon Avon

I visited the hotel several weeks ago to inspect the refurbishment. This time I overnighted and the beds/duvet are amongst the most comfortable I have experienced. Really good air conditioning made a huge difference on a warm, barmy evening. The heavy Austrian carved furniture in the restaurant has been replaced with a modern, stylish look and feel. Completion should be around mid July for all the public areas and this hotel will be an exciting addition to the Superbreak Stratford selection. I really rate the Stratford Victoria.

Beautifully located. Although the hotel had not competed a major refourbishment the finished rooms were excellent. Staff seemed to be coping very well and were very polite and helpful. Competitively priced. Would definitely go back.

At the time of visit the hotel was about 2 weeks from a transformational refurbishment. Once complete it will be a stunning hotel offering contemporary design, something Stratford has been missing. The bedrooms are finished and they definitely have the 'wow' factor - you may want to consider an upgrade to a corner room or a suite - but I expect they sell quickly. The Stratford, as it will be called in future, offers a great base to visit Warwick and in the other direction, the Cotswolds.

Strattford upon Avon is a beautiful place. We used the city sightseeing bus to allow us to visit all of the local places of interest with ease. The hotel was undergoing rennovation & whilst we were not disturbed by this work we stayed in the old part of the hotel which was in need of a facelift. The pictures of the refurbished hotel look lovely though. We only ate in the hotel at Breakfast time. The choice of breakfast options was very good & the food was of the normal standard that you would expect. unfortunately the waiting on staff were very slow and not particularly enthusiastic.

Had a thoroughly lazy time,made most enjoyable by the quality of the hotel and the efficiency of the staff. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
