About Priscilla Queen of the Desert

Based on the award winning film of 1994 Priscilla Queen of the Desert the musical follows the adventures of three friends, two drag queens and a transsexual, as they travel from the shining lights of Sydney across the deserted outback to Alice Springs, in a battered old bus called Priscilla.

When drag queen Tick (Mitzi) contracts a job in Alice Springs he convinces fellow drag queen Adam (Felicia) and transsexual Bernadette to perform with him. Aboard the battered pink bus Priscilla, the trio travel across the Australian outback running into an eclectic mix of characters along the way. With dazzling costumes and a classic disco soundtrack Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical is a rich story of friendship, acceptance and discovery.

Featuring an array of disco hits, Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical is a feel good show that will have you dancing in your seats and smiling ear to ear. Songs featured in the show include the hits What’s Love Got To Do With It?, Don’t Leave Me This Way , I Say A Little Prayer, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Finally.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert premiered in 2006 in Sydney, before travelling to New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Canada. The show opened at London’s Palace Theatre in spring 2009.
