out of 5Obviously our reason for our trip was to go to an evening wedding reception at pembroke lodge in richmond park. The hotel was a great location close by to the venue and opposite had great views down the hill to the river. Had a room at the front of the old building that was a reasonable size, having great features with old fireplaces, sash windows. Clean, comfortable bed, good size bathroom, spa facilities available that sadly we did not allow enough time on our day of arrival to use. The hotel is located within 10-15 minutes walk to the town, park and river and plenty of parking space to leave your car.

That evening had dinner on a boat on the Thames. Went back to the hotel and used the facilities which were way above average. Went to London to see 'we will rock you' would recommend it.

Visiting Friends And Relatives
A customerfrom UKwho stayed at 4* Brook Kingston Lodge Hotel in Kingston upon Thames wrote this review.
Stay Date: 04/04/11
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5We used the hotel as a base to visit friends in Twickenham and Putney both of which can be reached by regular buses from the stop outside the hotel. Many of the hotel rooms overlook an inner courtyard but ours unfortunatley looked out over some temporary office buildings which made the balcony a bit of a waste of time. Overall though good value at the Superbreak weekend rate we paid of £80 per night. We would stay there again. Richmond park is within walking distance and is great for short or long walks.

out of 5Park hotel in Teddington is a great location with great pubs and walks by the Thames up to eel pie island or bushy park and hampton court all nearby. Rail link to Waterloo makes it easy to get into central London for business or pleasure. Only downside of the trip was unsual occurence of no confirmation from Superbreak to the hotel. Hotel staff were great and used their common sense to provide us with a room despite plenty of opportunities to take another booking and contacted Superbreak the next day by phone and requested the booking confimation was sent through. Well done the Park Hotel!.

A customerfrom Walsallwho stayed at 3* The Lodge Hotel in Putney wrote this review.
Stay Date: 25/07/09
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Excellent first day at science museum, Loads to see. Our fourth stay at this hotel, but double room really was far to small for 2 people, there was practically no space round the bed. We expressed our disappointment to the reception staff and were immediately offered an alternative twin room, which was far superior. Bar meal in hotel excellent quality and value for money. Second day spent at National Maritime Museum at Greenwich, again plenty to see. Decided to opt for bar meal at hotel again, rather than spend time searching for somewhere suitable to eat. Unfortunately, next morning the fire alam started ringing every few minutes from 6.30 for over half an hour. When we queried this with reception the man on the desk said he thought someone was smoking in a room. Perhaps this could have been dealt with a little quicker. Overall an excellent weekend, will probably stay again as the proximity to the tube makes access to other areas quite easy.

out of 5We had a fantastic weekend in Chessington - Park was great, on site Hotel was good too, however the staff at the Hotel weren't, which was a bit of a let down. Whilst booking in the receptionist had taken extra money off my card, (actually paying twice) which they accepted was a mistake, however after being assured this was set right 3 times, I'm still awaiting refund nearly 2 weeks later...!! Other than that had a great time

Hampton Court Palace is a short walk through Bushy Park and a great day out for kids and adults of all ages.Billy Elliot - a must see, captivating throughout, you will be on the edge of you seat. Care if taking younger children as the language is very strong but not out ok keeping with the setting.

out of 5The Hotel was excellently located at the entrance to Bushey Park where deer could be seen freely roaming. An entrance into Hampton Court Palace garden was just opposite. There was a railway station near the main Palace entrance which provided connections to Central London, although during my visit travel from this station was disrupted due to track maintenance. There was a good bus connection to Kingston Upon Thames town centre from just outside the hotel. Free parking was provided on site. The hotel although small was quite quiet. The en-suite bedroom was very well decorated and presented. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were of a good standard. Although evening meals were not available, as far as I was aware, there was a pub across the road which looked as if it might provide meals. The only gripe was that there was no lift in the hotel that I could see. I would recommend this hotel

out of 5My husband and I opted to stay at the Lodge Hotel in Putney because that is where I grew up and went to schoolover 50 years ago,(Putney County Grammer School Mayfield no longer exists as a school and is now a Technical College). My home in Putney High Street (a flat over a shop) is now part of the Putney Exchange Shopping Centre so I reckon I am now part of ancient history. Some things, however, do not change, the river walk with the boat houses at Putney, Richmond with its enchanting views and beautiful houses and the lazy old River Thames with all the river activity.

out of 5Unfortunately as with most London hotels you pay a lot of money, and dont really get what you pay for. We had a twin and a single room, paying £99 and £89 respectively, only £10 difference however the single room was smaller than most family box rooms, it should be charged at a much cheaper fairer rate. The breakfast definately flattered to decieve It all looked very good but the meat products, bacon sausage, black pudding etc were like cardboard and overcooked. I know it's London, but if your worthy of four star prices give four star service

Stay Date: 20/08/08
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5The hotel was no better than satisfactory, and from reception to our room was quite an indoor hike with no lift facilities, and no offer of baggage assistance from hotel staff. The newspaper I ordered the previous evening failed to arrive next morning outside the room (although this facility was promised in the room information) but was, after asking, grudgingly produced from behind reception after I asked its whereabouts.Despite being almost empty, certain tables in the breakfast dining room were off-limits, and we were asked to move after sitting at one -how long does it take to lay-up a table of the customer's choice?Overall, an average hotel with less than friendly staff, and definitely not one for anyone with any kind of walking disability. Why is this not mentioned in the brochure?

A customerwho stayed at 4* Holiday Inn London Chessington in Chessington wrote this review.

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5The Holiday Inn in Chessington was a wonderful surprise. A brand new hotel, only 10 minutes walk from the nearest station which was only 30 minutes from Central London was a wonderful find and great value. The hotel restaurant was fantastic and the new room had all the amenities you would expect from a four star + hotel. With such close proximity to Chessington, we were up early for a great breakfast and on the rides 10 minutes later as soon as the parks opened. Our room looked over the new zoo facility at Chessington, and we thought we would be disturbed by the waking animals, but they seemed to keep at a respectful noise level until gone 9! Chessington itself hasn't changed much for a few years now, and could do with a lick of paint. It is still a fun, family friendly and great facility right on every Londoners doorstep. I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn in Chessington, and in booking through Superbreak we got our hotel and park tickets for the same price that it would have cost to book independently at the hotel. A bargain and great weekend too!

out of 5The hotel, Kingston Lodge, was easy to get to from the M25; car parked up, we used public transport to take us everywhere else in and around London; there was a bus stop right outside the hotel to take us into Kingston; we initially used our Osprey pre-paid card to use on the bus but then bought a 3 day travel card which we found easier to use on transport into London.Kew Gardens was only a bus ride from Kingston, Bus No 65, dropped you right outside the entrance. Spent a day there but could have spent a couple of days. The Natural History Museum was OK but had visited there before, not much change but still very interesting but you need a whole day to take it in. The Victoria and Albert Musuem was excellent, so much variety of culture; need a whole day in there as well. The theatre trip was to see Wicked at the Apollo in Victoria; superb! Would recommed anyone to see it and we would see it again.

out of 5Decided to take my young family - 2 boys 4 and 8 to Chessington for the day. Worst bit is always getting there and coming home after a hard day on the rides and so we decided to stay local to the park and came across Superbreak organising 2 night stays at the new Holiday Inn next door to Chessington.Absolutley perfect !! Great food, pool for the night before and morning after day out. Right next door so no travelling involved, so a full day on amusements and room was terrific for children. Clearly a lot of thought had gone in to this as the room was firstly big enough for the 4 (not always the case) and kiddies beds were separated by bathroom from ours so also had a bit of personal space and meant they had their own TV with kiddies channels. Perfect they could lie in bed after a hard day, watch a bit of TV and then crash while we enjoyed a glass of wine watching X Factor (well nothings perfect) in relative peace. Was best weekend we've had for a long time and highlight of summer excursions. Thanks

Long wait at Reception, trays of uneaten food, glasses and crockery outside bedroom doors, long waits between courses at dinner - poorly trained staff, no Manager in evidence. Poor service at bar, overpriced drinks - £5.00 for 2 very small cups of peppermint tea!The next morning the chef had not turned up so people had to wait for breakfast. Again no Manager present - the staff were pleasant enough but inexperienced and with no leadership no wonder things went from bad to worse.

out of 5Location was excellent. Easy to access by foot although the hill is fairly steep. Many places to eat available - with wide range of choice to suit every occasion. Little expensive but it is London. We where able to travel to Kew by bus which avoided trying to park the car. Good tube service available. In addition in the summer there are river boats to Kew and Hampton Court.

out of 5Went to richmond to check out the town, having read that it was a nice place to stay and visit.the pubs real ale and bar food were excellent.it's a pity the hotel room was cold, the radiator in our room did not work, and the piped music at breakfast was truly dreadful. Both Donna at the front desk and Paolo restaurant supervisor did not want to know. Also went to check out the thames path, hoping it would be o.k. to cycle on. not a lot of it is suitable for cycling.o.k. for walking though. Main purpose of the visit was to see the canalleto exhbition in dulwich. It was well worth the effort.

out of 5This was our 1st International @ Twickenham and we were with 2 guys who knew their way around. The only fault was on checking in at the hotel. Superbreak had only fax'd 1 room reservation instead of 2 and the Hotel was fully booked. Fortunately the receptionist was able to resolve the error

Editor's Comments: We work hard to ensure our booking procedures are very comprehensive and we are working with the hotel to ensure that their reservation procedures are reviewed.
Leisure Afternoon In Richmond & Twickenham
A customerfrom Tonbridge, Kentwho stayed at 2* Richmond Park Hotel in Richmond-upon-Thames wrote this review.
Stay Date: 20/08/06
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5We walked from our hotel in Richmond along the River Thames tow path into Twickenham to see the Rolling Stones in concert later that evening. We crossed the footbridge in Twickenham over to Eel Pie Island but there was very little to see here other than a jumble of cottages. We were rather hoping that there would be a nice riverside walk around the island but alas no. We went inland and had a drink in the Eel Pie Public House which from all accounts does excellent food and some unusual ales.

out of 5Express Holiday Inn is a great hotel for business travellers - good location on the river, central but quiet. There isn't a restaurant in the hotel, but a couple of good restaurants in the waterfront development. Would definitely say there again.
