Harry Potter Tour

out of 5Travel from Edinburgh to Luton via easyjet was faultless. Travel by coach from Luton airport to Watford by coach was excruciating, driver was rude, coach and route not what was promised. Holiday inn watford was great, staff were so obliging, chef even made a special meal for my grandson. Harry potter tour was excellent and very well organised.
Watford Hotel, Ideal For Visit To Harry Potter
A customerwho stayed at 3* Jurys Inn Watford in Watford wrote this review.
Stay Date: 11/04/12
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights, part of a package to visit harry potter studios. It's an easy 10 minute walk from watford junction station, and the bus to harry potter leaves from the station. The staff were lovely, dinner in the bar very good. Rooms pleasant, beds very comfortable. Breakfast buffet good. On the other days we took the train into euston - 20 minutes if you make sure not to take the stopping one! not too expensive with our family railcard, probably still a cheaper option and a nicer hotel than staying in central London. Harry potter was amazing, worth every penny, but try not to let your children linger in the very expensive gift shop. Also went to the stage show 'wicked' - wonderful.

out of 5Got to the hotel which is well placed for the train station and watford town centre but unfortunately my room booking wasn't held so i had a delay in getting to my room. Receiptionist could have been more helpful and explained the situation without me having to ask why there was a delay. More problems on the second day when my door key was deactivated and again staff could have been more helpful - made to feel like it was my fault! However room and breakfast were good and restaurant staff friendly and helpful. Harry potter studio tour was excellent. Bus to leavesden goes from outside train station and spent a great 3 hours on the tour. Could have stayed much longer. My son could have stayed that long in the shop alone and is already planning his next visit.

out of 5Hotel jurys inn in watford great location and parking at the saturn car park resonable (5 mins walk to hotel). Train into London to include unlimited travel on unerground and buses about £15 each for the day.Better option would have been to drive to a nearer tube station like stratford park all day and get the £8.00 unlimted travel in London. Oyster card application worth considering.

We loved visiting all the sites of london, but when it came to the nightime, harrow had just the right amount of places to have a drink and some food. Thank you.

out of 5We arranged to meet australian relatives for a few days and the location of the hotel suited this. The hotel was good and very near both tube and railway stations. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and adequate. The staff gave us an underground map and helpful advice about lines which were closed and we travelled with ease. We met at tower bridge and looked and walked around. The tower of london was busy but good to see and we then went to a pub to catch up. The following day, after a great breakfast, we took the train to dorset to see more relatives which was two hours away. Great day and then back to the waterloo at waterloo for drinks and a good meal. The following day we visited camden market which was a great experience and one which we will repeat as we didn't see half of it! the whole trip was great and i would book this again.

Wembley Travelodge
A customerfrom UKwho stayed at 3* Travelodge Wembley Hotel in Wembley wrote this review.
Stay Date: 16/11/11
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Booked to see Roxette at wembley arena on the same night as sweden v england at wembley stadium. Initially the reviews did give us some concern however for one night stay we thought it was worth the risk as all the other local hotels were considerably more expensive. The hotel is very worn out and basic but clean which is all we wanted. Its located 10 min walk to stonebridge park tube station and a 40min walk to wembley stadium. A tip is if you turn left as you leave the hotel and walk for ten minutes, thsi should take you to stonebridge park station and if you do the same to the right, this should take you to hanger lane station which is a bit longer than 10 minutes. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel and we believe that when events are on all buses take a detour to wembley from this stop which is handy. Rooms don't have an iron but can be asked for at reception. Rooms have tea making facilities but the road facing rooms can be quite noisy. All staff were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. Hotel bar is reasonably priced and breakfast was standard but good. However the bar tables and chairs have seen better days so be careful. The only down side is that the area didn't appear to have many local bars or restaurants near by so when the hotel stops serving food your options are very limited if you require a late night snack. The car park appeared safe enough and priced at £5 for 24hrs. All in all this is a good place to stop for wembley events for a single night but for any longer and if you can spare a few more pennies I would suggested opting for a closer hotel. Access to wembley from the hotel is not ideal and either a tube or bus change is required to get to wembley.

Staff were extremely pleasant from the reception to the chambermaid. Room was spotless and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast, ranging from fresh fruit & yoghurt to ful cooked breakfast. Would definitely return if visiting wembley but perhaps a bit too far outside central London for a city break.

out of 5The hotel was a short walk from the tube station and the reception was welcoming and check in easy. Our room was on 3rd floor reached by stairs, no lift, and it was nice and clean although the bathroom is a bit dated having a pink suite. Tea and coffee facilities were on hand and the bed was comfortable. Good enough for a weekend break.

Fantastic weekend, didn't take full advantage of the weekend pass on the tube but anyone sightseeing its ideal. Open train ticket lets you plan your own arival/depart time. Hotel is perfect for wembley and for the amount of time your spending there is a great chioce. Break as a whole great value and will be back next year. Whitley bay depending!! howay the bay.

out of 5We drove to croydon and left the car at my mother-in-laws house and got the early bus to morden and took the tube to the O2 to see the titanic display. We found it fantastic and interesting, this part was more for my wife. Afterwards we ate at frankie and bennys restaurant and found the food bland and tastless plus i got rained on by a leaking overhead urinal cistern in the toilet. Then we got back on the tube to the imperial war museum, this part was for me, and i of course loved it. We stayed until closing time and then had to deal with rush hour on the tube to harrow whitch we regret very much because it was so far away and nothing to do when you got there. The hotel staff wern't very nice and the bar staff didn't speak good english. I had a meal at the hotel that again was'nt very nice, the "fresh mash" tasted like instant mash to me. Dessrt was worse with a rock hard waffle and melted away tiny portion of ice cream. The bedroom was scruffy with peeling wallpaper and the bathroom had a dirty bath with mould underneath the bath mat, and only one set of towels for 2 people. When we checked out they tried to charge us an extra £5 bar bill for drinks we didn't have. We wished we had paid the extra and got a better hotel because it put a dampner on an otherwise nice day. On reflection the rule is you get what you pay for.

out of 5We have stayed at this hotel before and found it a cheap alternative to staying in central London. This visit spoilt on the first of a 3 night stay by the aircon having broken down. As it was a Sunday there was only one overworked receptionist on duty who tried but failed to fix the problem. We moved room to another where the window would open and sweated it out on a warm and humid night, having failed to find anywhere where we could buy a fan that late at night. Next day the problem was fixed and the rest of the stay was ok but the problem start did spoil things for us especially as we had arrived after a long car journey from Tenby and didn't need the room shuffle just to try and keep cool.

out of 5Hotel room had poor tv reception but moved us to another room which was fine straight away. Nice quiet residential area, good car park. Price of tube ticket changes according to how close you are to London so we went to Northwick Park zone 4 instead of Harrow on the Hill zone 5, same distance from hotel to walk but cheaper ticket for travelcard day pass. We used tesco vouchers for most attractions, wetherspoon pubs for cheap meals and drinks are great. There is one outside at Tower Hill tube station next to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Had a nice chinese buffet right next to London Eye. Wimbledon Lawn Tennis museum and guided tour was great, plenty to see spent 5 hours there and had strawberries and cream in the restaurant!.

Stay Date: 08/08/10
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5We stayed at the Jury's Inn Watford for two nights Friday/Saturday 6th and 7th August. Excellent rates through Superbreak! There is no car park attached to the hotel and the nearest place we found was infact the train station. Instead of following the instructions on the ticket machine for a weekend pass, telephone to number given and speak to an operator, the charges are cheaper (£10.00 for the whole weekend). Fabulous buffet breakfast, nothing too much trouble for the restaurant staff either morning. Although I had telephoned in advance to ask about adding an extra child to the booking and was advised we would be able to easliy do this as the room was more than big enough to add a camp bed, we found on arrival with two eleven year old girls that the "sofa-bed" was only just big enough and there was no room for an extra camp bed. However this did not spoil our weekend, we spent Saturday in London taking the train from Watford junction (15mins on the express to Euston) Trains run until 2.00am back to Watford. Approx 7/8 min walk to hotel. Book train tickets ahead if possible to save money. On Sunday we went to Wembley to watch the Manchester United v Chelsea match and had a great day. Overall very good weekend.

out of 5Overall I found the recepton staff most helpful and polite. The room was clean and well heated, I particually liked the shower it was spotless and huge. Could of done with some extra coffee and milk sachets and a hairdryer in the room would of been a bonus. On the downside Iwas woken up at about 1:30 due to continuous banging (that got louder) in the corridor from one of the other guests this went on for about half an hour making it hard for me to get a good nights sleep. However I would visit again if I am ever in the area.

out of 5We travelled with a family of small to older children all wanting to have a taste of London, we certainly got that. They all really enjoy their experiences of London itself as well as the hotel we stayed in. We were delighted at the welcome we recieved at the hotel in which they could not of done any more then they could have done. It was clean, comfortable and easy to find. The staff on check in were effiecent, polite and helpful we were early but they pulled out all stops to get our rooms ready so we could enjoy London that little bit early. The only criticism I would like to add is that we had two children under the age of 5 who eat little breakfast this amounted to 2 pieces of toast each but we were charged £8 each child little overpriced we thought we didn't challenge this as we didnt want to spoil the trip and we let it ride. Overall we were not dissapointed with our choice of location or hotel and we would certainly use it again but maybe not be foolish enough to not challenged the breakfast prices for children.

out of 5The Comfort Hotel in Harrow was anything but! Nice staff, decent service, but the room was stifling hot so it was difficult to sleep, even with windows on and the desk fan on all night. Apart from the room, it was a good place to stay. Much cheaper than central London, a quieter location and yet an easy ride into town on the tube.

out of 5The hotel, overall, was quite good - centrally located to Harrow (but St Johns Road was unknown to our satnav - it is recommended to take a printed map for the last mile or so), but the room was quite warm (no air-con and a single fan didn't add much to the circulation). the room (in the annex) was ok, although on a couple of nights there were noisy people in the car park (which was free for hotel patrons). Internet Access was 8.99 for a week which wasn't too bad (and it was reasonably reliable) and I may consider staying here again.

out of 5We arrived at Hunton Park at around 6pm on Friday night. We had booked a double room but were shown to a very small (and very hot!) room which unfortunately was set up for 1 person (one set of towels, glasses, mugs etc). We then called reception and, after a frosty response from the receptionist, requested the extra items. 20 minutes later the towels etc turned up! We then decided to ask reception if we had been incorrectly allocated a smaller room only to be told that all rooms in the hotel were the same size and that even if there were other rooms we couldn't move as there was a wedding party in that night. Oh well at least the restaurant might offer some respite....We wandered to the deserted restaurant which looked remarkably like a conference room with harsh lighting and no music to set the mood. We took a seat at an empty table and there we sat for 15 minutes without seeing any restaurant staff (or indeed a menu!) and only the loud dance music coming from the kitchen for company. I decided to revisit our friendly receptionist to ask if the restaurant was indeed open. A very friendly girl was then dispatched to look after us and she did her best to welcome us and keep us happy. Unfortunately, the wedding party in the function room next door got most of her (and the rest of the staff's) attention and we were left feeling in the way and not really welcome. No one else entered the restaurant throughout our entire meal except for a waiter who noisily wandered around the room laying out tables for breakfast clanking as much cutlery as humanly possible and breaking only to enter the kitchen and embark on a shouting competition with the chef and other staff! Not exactly a romantic start to our weekend but at least the food was reasonable although the dessert looked and tasted as if it had sat out all day.We then headed off for bed and back to our furnace of a room. Only once we'd turned off the lights and TV did the drone of the swimming pool plant room beneath our room really become apparent. At least we'd discovered why the room was so hot though! A greatly disjointed night's sleep then followed with lots of noise from the wedding party in the corridor outside being nicely supported by the generators below! The following night followed much the same pattern only with a different wedding party who excelled themselves by raising the noise levels to a new high. Give Hunton Park a miss if it's romance and peace you're looking for is our advice!

out of 5We set off from Peterborough at 11 and arrived at our Hotel at about 2pm. We dropped our overnight bags off an headed straight off to Madame Tussauds, this was a really good attraction, a lot of fun.Next was dinner. Upon getting back to the hotel, we had half an hour to get ready before heading out on the tube to Parsons Green Station to visit a little Italian restaurant in Fulham. We had a fantastic meal and topped it off my picking up some beautiful flowers from the shop over the road.Sunday was a very tiring day, but lots of fun! We visited the London Zoo and the London Eye as well as dropping in on Oxford Street for a spot of shopping before taking the long trip home (we couldn't go direct to Peterborough because of construction work so had to get a train to Luton and then a bus to Peterborough - exhausting!) What a weekend!!

out of 5Finding the hotel proved difficult and I had to drive around the Hangar Lane system more than once, but when I arrived the staff were very courteous and the room was lovely. the air-con was a big bonus! My evening meal was excellent, as was breakfast the next morning. The close proximity to the underground system was a huge plus, and using the oyster card system to travel around was easy and relatively cheap. i enjoyed a leisurely walk down Regent Street to Leicester Square and relaxed in the Haagen Dasz cafe with a delicious milkshake.I walked to the National Gallery to take in the 'From Manet to Picasso' exhibition of Impressionists work and thoroughly enjoyed the artists works. I also watched a video which gave further explanation and this was very informative. Lastly, I met a friend and we went to Yo Sushi on Haymarket, before going to the Prince of Wales theatre to watch Mamma Mia, a show of which I can only give the highest recommendation, exciting, enjoyable and fun!

Even the route to the hotel from the M1 was easy enough, although sign posting of hotel entrance off main road prior to the roundabout would help!Local Italian restaurant was small but very friendly, and very popular with local people - good sign! Both quality and choice of food were excellent. A lovely romantic end to a busy day.For a stress-free, well-priced break we cannot fault Superbreak. Booking was simple, tickets were sent via email as well as by post. Staff very friendly and efficient.

It was a night to remember and would definitely go again to see him. I may even go to see some more perforers that I might like to see. I was also privileged to have a stadium Tour of the new Wembley Stadium. It is a wonderful piece of engineering and is definitely much nicer than the old Wembley. I also managed to do some sightseeing and get some Christmas Shopping done whilst in the area. I even managed a trip to Watford which I thoroughly enjoyed.

They symbolise the level of service and range of facilities that you can expect at the property; ranging from 1 star - hotels with the simplest range of facilities, to five stars - luxury hotels with a wider range of facilities. Please note that different countries have different standards and star ratings may differ according to the country where the hotel is located.
