out of 5Booked this hotel to go see take that at wembley as i thought it was near to it. Hotel accomodation was good (bed maybe too soft for my liking) but quiet seeing as it was on the m1. Food expensive in restaurant breakfast too pricey if you do not eat much so went over to the services instead.

out of 5Hotel was lovely, excellent leisure facilities and easy to find from the a1. Staff were all friendly and helpful and hotel provided a free phone to a local taxi company that we used to get to the railway station to get into London, cheaper than parking and congestion charge. On the downside our rooms bathroom had a cracked wash handbasin and toilet, but otherwise beautifully fitted, although radio didn't work through the television. However we would recommend staying there and would use again.

Stay Date: 25/08/10
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5We have stayed at this hotel before and found it a cheap alternative to staying in central London. This visit spoilt on the first of a 3 night stay by the aircon having broken down. As it was a Sunday there was only one overworked receptionist on duty who tried but failed to fix the problem. We moved room to another where the window would open and sweated it out on a warm and humid night, having failed to find anywhere where we could buy a fan that late at night. Next day the problem was fixed and the rest of the stay was ok but the problem start did spoil things for us especially as we had arrived after a long car journey from Tenby and didn't need the room shuffle just to try and keep cool.

out of 5Me and my husband went to London to watch the london marathon. It was a great weekend and would recomend it to anyone. The hotel we stayed in was Walford Village it was a very up to date hotel with free swimming and sauna/ steam room and gym. The hotel breakfast was very good however we had evening meal at the hotel and was disapointed. Hotel was a little out of the way and a £5 taxi journey to the tube.

out of 5We went down via train to Elstree Village, really nice and welcoming, not stuffy. The restaurant did some good food and the gym was excellent. Relax on the sofa with a starbucks cappacino. Only downside it's out the way from public transport so you have to drive or get taxi to go to the shops i.e Westend, Oxford circus etc but overall hotel staff were on top form. We will return.

out of 5This was a great hotel choice for us. Right by the side of the M25 north of London so perfect as a base to access the places we wanted to visit but no noise from the road and very comfortable. The staff were fabulous and really looked after us during our stay. The hotel has been renovated this year so everything was looking great - nice modern furnishings and decor and lovely spacious room. Well equipped and laid out for a family of four in one room (which is often a squeeze!) The staff were great - really friendly and just couldn't do enough for us. It was a very enjoyable stay.

out of 5We booked two rooms (each with two beds) - one for my husband and myself and one for my two daughters aged 21 and 24. When we arrived in the hotel they said that unclear bookings had been received and they had booked us into 2 double rooms - with a child's foldaway bed for one of my daughters. My husband and I were fine in a double room but my daughters slept a night each in the child's foldaway bed which they found very uncomfortable and unfortunately - had a poor night's sleep. This was disappointing. We visited London on the first day - travelling via the tube at Loughton. While there we walked on the south embankement from the Tower of London to Westminster Bridge. This was really good. We travelled home via Cambridge and had a walk around the colleges. - Another good day.

out of 5Stayed at the Marriot Waltham Abbey for 2 nights. We weren't told by Superbreak that there was major building work going on, but it didnt really affect us at all as our room was well away from it. It should improve the hotel tremendously when finished. Our room was first-class and Marriot have obviously researched what people want for a good nights sleep - a good bed with plenty of pillows and a comfortble mattress. Leisure facilities good and meals good. Nice meal in restaurant and good service. Great for visiting London as only 10mins from underground and cost only £7 return each. Will def. use the hotel again for this convenience.

We were supplied with drinks and sandwiches all afternoon at our impromptu get together. A big thank you because it was an important event to us.If I could just add that being a Saturday you had a wedding in the hotel and unfortunately our nights sleep was somewhat spoilt by guests running round the corridors late into the night obviously worse for wear and suffering the effects of too much alcohol.

out of 5A very convenient location to stay if visiting Wembley Stadium, or the Brent Cross shopping centre which is within 5 minutes easy walk. Location relative to the M1 cannot be beaten. Drinks at the hotel are expensive and the evening dinner is not really value for money. We would only use this hotel as a base because there are few attractions nearby, other than those mentioned.

out of 5The bedrooms were clean and well presented the whole hotel was nicely furnished and staff courteous. unfortunately breakfast was a disaster although we arrived after 10 o'clock but still within the hotel the time-limit for breakfast. the hot food had also been prepared a considerable time before we arrived and was dried out and unappetising. there was no butter or white bread available. the toasting machine appeared to have to have a mind of its own with the groups of diners crowding round to see if they toast was ready or not when you eventually got your toast back to your table, your meal was cold. comment: ditch the toasting machine. the staff at breakfast were courteous and helpful and eventually obtained everything required, it appeared to be uphill battle for them as well as the diners. unfortunately breakfast was just too much trouble.comment: if the hotel serves breakfast up to 11 o'clock it to should support its staff with a better system I had the impression the staff were just as fed up and frustrated as the diners. the reason we turn up for breakfast after 10am was because we used your pool facilities. my family enjoyed the Jacuzzi and steam room, myself the pool and sauna. these facilities were excellent, clean, well presented and as usual the staff helpful and courteous.
