out of 5We arrived a little early at the hotel but were told by a surly receptionist there was nowhere to store our luggage. Instead we had to pay £10 extra for an early check in. The light in the lift did not work. The hotel room was tatty, and the thermostatic valve on the radiator was missing - so it would not turn off. The room was like an oven. The bathroom fittings were tired. At breakfast the toaster did not work properly. The bed was not made by room service, but they removed one of towels, so we were short next day. The room was noisy. I would suggest you avoid the marlebone travelodge like the plaque. However, all other aspects of the Superbreak hoilday were superb, and we have never had such a bad hotel before. The da vinci exhibition was a once in a lifetime experience.

out of 5Our main problem at the hotel was that, having arrived early, they would not accept our luggage to store until room ready nor, likewise, keep it after we checked out until our train time. Stations now charge £8.50 per item per 24hrs! Last time we stayed at a nearby hotel charging just a few pounds more that did store our luggage! our common complaint is why hotels only provide one chair in a double room, especially when there is acres of space (as in this one)!!.

out of 5The train was excellent after we had managed to get seats, we had previously reserved them but due to a train cancellation it was announced that there were no reservations in place. On arrival in kings cross we purchased daily saver tickets for the tube and made our way to marylebone where our accomodation was. We arrived at 13.30 to be told that check in was not for another hour unless we wanted to pay £10 for early check in, we decided against this and went to get some lunch in a nearby pub. On eventually checking in we were given a disabled room , this concerned me as there were a lot of emergency pull cords around the room and would have hated to pull one in error so I requested that we could be moved. The receptionist was very nice and gave us a room facing out onto the street. The room was in serious need of refurbishment I felt, with walls that were marked, windows filthy, mirror cracked, only 3 coathangers and the bathroom was very grubby with no plug for the sink , dirty floors behind the door and at the side of the toilet and the bath/shower were grubby and therefore never used. On a positive note the bed linen was immaculate along with the towels and the location of this travel lodge was spot on and only 1 tube ride into the heart of the city. With its location it is a pity that the clenliness of the place lets it down.
