out of 5Marylebone was an excellent location for travel around central london. Station was literally across the road also small supermarkets and coffee shops very close by. The hotel room although clean was in poor condition and the bathroom grouting and seals looked like the had been done by a 4yr old with rust coming through in places. Staff were very good and helpful just a shame about the hotel.

out of 5The journey to and from london was excellent. However on arrival at the hotel we were not booked in. It took nearly an hour before we were able to go to our room. Breakfast the following day was no problem, the second day we were told that we were not booked in for breakfast. I had to go to the bedroom, unpack the documentation and return to show that we were entitled to breakfast. All of this did spoil an otherwise enjoyable stay in london.
Editor Notes:
Editor's Comments: We work hard to ensure our booking procedures are very comprehensive and we are working with the hotel to ensure that their reservation procedures are reviewed.

out of 5We booked tickets to see an exhibition so wanted an easy booking. Travelling was exceptionally easy with Superbreak. The travelodge was in a very good location, easy to find and the underground just over the road. The bed was awful, it made noises when we weren't moving. Staff were nice and helpful. I would book with Superbreak again.

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5We arrived a little early at the hotel but were told by a surly receptionist there was nowhere to store our luggage. Instead we had to pay £10 extra for an early check in. The light in the lift did not work. The hotel room was tatty, and the thermostatic valve on the radiator was missing - so it would not turn off. The room was like an oven. The bathroom fittings were tired. At breakfast the toaster did not work properly. The bed was not made by room service, but they removed one of towels, so we were short next day. The room was noisy. I would suggest you avoid the marlebone travelodge like the plaque. However, all other aspects of the Superbreak hoilday were superb, and we have never had such a bad hotel before. The da vinci exhibition was a once in a lifetime experience.
Saving Money At A Cost!
A customerfrom UKwho stayed at 3* Travelodge Marylebone in Marylebone wrote this review.

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Our main problem at the hotel was that, having arrived early, they would not accept our luggage to store until room ready nor, likewise, keep it after we checked out until our train time. Stations now charge £8.50 per item per 24hrs! Last time we stayed at a nearby hotel charging just a few pounds more that did store our luggage! our common complaint is why hotels only provide one chair in a double room, especially when there is acres of space (as in this one)!!.

out of 5The train was excellent after we had managed to get seats, we had previously reserved them but due to a train cancellation it was announced that there were no reservations in place. On arrival in kings cross we purchased daily saver tickets for the tube and made our way to marylebone where our accomodation was. We arrived at 13.30 to be told that check in was not for another hour unless we wanted to pay £10 for early check in, we decided against this and went to get some lunch in a nearby pub. On eventually checking in we were given a disabled room , this concerned me as there were a lot of emergency pull cords around the room and would have hated to pull one in error so I requested that we could be moved. The receptionist was very nice and gave us a room facing out onto the street. The room was in serious need of refurbishment I felt, with walls that were marked, windows filthy, mirror cracked, only 3 coathangers and the bathroom was very grubby with no plug for the sink , dirty floors behind the door and at the side of the toilet and the bath/shower were grubby and therefore never used. On a positive note the bed linen was immaculate along with the towels and the location of this travel lodge was spot on and only 1 tube ride into the heart of the city. With its location it is a pity that the clenliness of the place lets it down.

out of 5Marylebone travelodge is one of the older hotels in the chain but thats is not the problem. The main issue is that it overlooks marylebone station and they deliver the food / papers etc starting at 04.00 in the morning - this woke up both up on both nights of our stay. Other than that the hotel is good, the staff very good, bar and cafe are very good.

We took a leisurely walk back to the travelodge via whitehall and st. James' park with a quick look in the window at berry bros and rudd. The next morning after a rousing breakfast, another visit to the food hall in selfridges and the ginger pig for boeuf bougignon pie - superb.

Highly recommended! the restaurant was right beside the theatre. They serve until 11pm, which is ideal. The hotel (Marylebone Travelodge) was adequate. The room smelled slightly musty but seemed spotless.Breakfast was self-service and good.

out of 5Just returned from a three night stay at the fabulous Melia House Hotel. We have visited London four times in the last two years and stayed in other 4 star hotels in various parts of central London but the Melia House Hotel was by far the best. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The superior room was really beautiful and very spacious. Breakfast was first class and we had a lovely meal in the place restaurant on one of the evenings. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I will be staying there again when I return to London in 2010!.

out of 5My Husband and I stayed at this hotel on the 18th and 19th of April. We booked a deluxe room because of the extras stated on the website. We were extremely disappointed in the room, the bathroom was far from luxury, it was clearly a disabled bathroom not at all what we had thought we would find. The loo seat was painfully raised , no bath, shower for a wheelchair and emergency pull cords, not exactly luxury There were no instructions for the coffee machine so making it a useless addition, there were no bathrobes provided nor when I asked for some did any arrive. The carpet was badly stained in front of the television. My husband was at a meeting on the Sunday and when I arrived back from shopping at 3.45 I had to ask at reception for the room to be cleaned and fresh towels to be brought, unfortunately it was then too late to shower before going out again as I had to meet my husband. We both travel a lot and always look for good quality hotels this was not what I would class 4 Star . Housekeeping is mediocre, would have asked for an iron but as the bathrobes hadn't arrived thought it would be a useless exercise, there should have been an ironing facilities in the room. All in all an extremely disappointing stay, certainly not somewhere I will recommend or use again.

out of 5We travelled with Superbreak to London and stayed at the Marylebone Hotel. The hotel is ideally situated for Oxford Street if you enjoy shopping and close to the tube if you want to visit any attractions. For evenings, there is a great choice of restaurants close by. The only downside was the cost of the drinks in the hotel bar - £6.95 for a single vodka & coke, but this is probably the going rate in most of the hotels. For drinks, unless you're with kids, I'd recommend going to the pub instead!

I choose the Hotel because if its location to the West End and the Museum. The hotel in recent months has had a major refurbishment of all public areas and have completed over 50% of the bedrooms, I was fortunate enough to stay in a re furbished room, which has been tastefully refurbished and the new beds are a dream to sleep on.I took my swimming shorts as I was aware of the hotels pool and enjoyed a quick swim prior to breakfast, which had a great selection of fresh cheeses, cold meats and pastries.I also enjoyed my espresso made from the espresso machine in my room.

It was only a couple of mins walk to the tube which eased getting around the various outings we had lined up. Purchased Oyster Cards to spped up the process of our journeys which was a good idea.Would certainly recommend the Superbreaks facility again , it was all without any problems and we also purchased our tickets for the Tutankhamun Exhibition through them. We had used Superbreaks back in the 80's and overjoyed that the service continues to offer great value and service. We now look forward to using them again in the future. Many thanks to all concerned!

Loads of eating places within a very short walk of the hotel. Also spent some time just sitting in Covent Garden, drinking coffee. - what a great place to chill, listen to some tremendous entertainers and watch the world go by. We just love London. The "Joseph and his amazing technicolour dreamcoat" musical at the Aldephi theatre is an absolutely magnificant production. Fast moving and very colourful. Well worth the money.

Asked for some sugar and milks for the room but they never arrived. jacuzzi wasn't in use in health club. Staff were pleasant and friendly but I dont think we would stay there again.Went to see Lord of the Rings at theatre royal drury lane. really enjoyed the show, great special effects to go with an impressive set that took over the theatre royal. the orks were superb when they appeared menacingly amongst the audience.Visited Kensington palace and the Diana memorial fountain, walked miles through Hyde Park, Covent Garden, Leicester Sq, Soho. we also used the tube when our feet gave out. Can't wait to go back to London again (fantastic).

out of 5The hotel was excellently placed for the centre of the City - everything was in easy walking distance. The hotel however was very noisy, especially the early morning deliveries. Hardly got any sleep at all both nights. The breakfasts are excellent. However, this did not make up for the tiredness felt during the day so would probably not use this particular hotel again. The Courtauld Institute is well worth a visit. The jewellery exhibition is particularly good. It was lovely to sit in the courtyard with the water feature splashing nearby - hard to believe you were in busy London! The cartoon museum near to the British Museum was excellent (Heath Robinson exhibition) and well worth a visit if you have a couple of hours to spare. Ronnie Scotts has improved since the re-furbishment and the food was a lot better. We actually visited London to watch Soft Machine at the Jazz at the Pizza Express and we were not disappointed. It was a terrific night.

Hotel's excellent location was less than 5 mins walk to Oxford Street and only 5 mins walk to hotel from underground. 2 mins from St Christophers Place for bars and restuarants. Tried the Spanish Tapas bar which was excellent and good value for money.Went to see Sound of Music at London Palladium. Excellent performance had really good seats in the Royal Circle. Well worth the cost. Only 10 mins walk from hotel. Had lunch at Selfridges, very dissapointed with the self service restaurant. Not much vegetarian choice and food cold. Our stay was very enjoyable overall and although I would have classed the Hotel as a 3* Its location was perfect for Oxford Street shopping and the London Palladium.

However, unfortunately there was building work in the foyer of the hotel, so areas cordoned off, drilling on Sunday morning and only one lift in the foyer working, stairs were not signposted at all. It would have been useful to have had this information when booking and we could have made an informed choice as to whether to use this hotel (we almost certainly wouldn't have done)Buying a one day saver ticket for the tube ?5.25 was excellent value for money, we were able to visit most landmarks with ease on the Sunday before returning home.

Hotel being renovated though so had to use stairs (Which was fine because we were on the 1st floor). I much prefer the live commentary available on the 'yellow' routes as the guides have a large fund of anecdotes which give a better insight to the city. The Clink Museum was an eye-opener and an eye-filler as I was moved to tears by the sheer brutality of our ancestors. The exhibits and commentaries in atmospheric surroundings contributed greatly to my emotions making the visit truly memorable.

out of 5I was in England on business but got the weekend to myself so I stayed in London. I used to live there so I am very familiar with the city.I truly loved the hotel I stayed in, though it was a bit over my budget. The bar was very expensive for the size drinks I got (though very tasty). My main goal was shopping which I did in droves. I mainly walked or took taxis, which was very relaxing. The tube was a bit too hectic for being on my own. Some of my old "haunts" no longer offer the same delicious food as they used too, so I found myself eating sandwiches from the local grocery. The hotel was in the best location, close to the center but far enough away to enjoy a walk through the park. SuperBreaks did a delightful job assisting me with my travel, and I intend to use them on all future travel to the UK. Thank you!

However, a room at the hotel was offered by the organisers at £160/night. I found the Blandford using the Superbreak site. This was conveniently placed bteween Baker St station (a couple of stops from Paddington)and Portman Square, and less than half the price.(£68) The hotel was perfectly adequate for one night, with all facilities, a fair size room, and a reasonable English breakfast included. though perhaps I would want somewhere more lavish for a wwekend. Colleagues who stayed at the Radisson said their rooms were quite small. Marylebone is good area to stay - central, good bars, restaurants etc, but not many tourists.

out of 5We decided that we would take four days out of Yorkshire and have some fun in London. Our hotel was wonderful and the deal we got through Superbreaks saved us a fortune compared to the standard room costs. Breakfast was included too which is not the case with the standard hotel deal and would have cost us £19.95 per person per day otherwise. The rooms were very luxurious and spotlessly clean. Room service was expensive but who comes to London to eat in their room? With Great Portland St. tube station just over the road we were able to get to all of our chosen locations easily and cheaply. We spent most of our time in the West End and Soho where we enjoyed the sights, tastes and smells of Chinatown, took in a matinee of the fantastic Spamalot and had great fun in the Hard Rock Casino, Leicester Square. The cost of enjoying life in London isnt cheap but we had an excellent meal at Georgio Locatelli's restaurant, Locanda Locatelli (Seymour Street) which was very reasonable by London standards. Mr Kong's chinese restaurant in Chinatown is excellent and very good value too. If you want to see how the other half gamble then pay a visit to the Hard Rock Casino in Leicester Square which is free to join and is really quite something to behold. The London Dungeons were fun but it is quite a trek to get there and possibly not advisable for those who are a little claustrophic. A trip to Westminster Cathedral on the Sunday was great and a gentle way to finish off a fun packed but exhausting four days. We thoroughly enjoyed our break and, because there is so much we didnt manage to pack in, we are counting the days until we can go again.

out of 5My friend and I were so looking forward to this break. A girly break, no men nagging about what you are spending and being bored looking around shops with that I dont want to be here look on their face. Arrived at the Hotel. Hotel facilities excellent. Booked ourselves in for a treatment at the spa for a massage as after all the walking around the shops being pushed and battered at the sales we would really need some pampering before going to see the show we had booked for. Unpacked and duly headed for the shops. Took the camera for a spot of celeb spotting just incase. To our surprise we saw Noel Gallagher which was the highlight of our weekend. We had a truly wonderful time. Came home absolutely exhasted. But it was worth it. Planning the next break now.

out of 5never been to London before, stayed at a great hotel in a nice area of Marylebone for 3 nights and had a fantastic time used the open top tour bus to see the sights of London and would recommend this to anybody, it takes you past all the major sites to see and the talking guide was very educational we are used to going away abroad for our holidays, but this break has made us realise that there are plenty of places to visit in the UK and we are saving up for our next Superbreak at home

out of 5Booked into the fantastic Jury Ford Clifton Hotel & Health Spa on Welbeck Street. It was perfect, catered for 8 girls very well and the leisure facilities were brilliant. we were given a late check out ofr each room and then given an extended check out till 6pm for one room which was amazing. Funky Buddha is so overrated - exceptionally overpriced, small and no atmosphere at all. nice place to go if you have money to burn and don't care about the clientele. Very disapointing. Gabrielles Restaurant was great - the staff are fun and the food was simple but enjoyable. The price was fantastic - only £30 a head for lots of wine and 2 courses.

out of 5The hotel was one of the best we have stayed in in London. We were given an junior suite on the 7th floor with air conditioning which truly made the holiday. We spent a busy morning shopping in Oxford Street then a relaxing afternoon in Regents Park ending with a sleep in a deckchair. Sunday we had a lovely walk past Buckingham Palace and down the the river where we walked along the South Bank. A truly wonderful weekend.

out of 5Good Location of hotel. In nice quiet street, but very close to stations and only a 10 min walk to Hyde Park Went to Hyde Park to see The Who in concert. For the best pubs to eat and drink, go down the side streets in Mayfair. Only downside to the hotel was that there was no air con in the room. We stayed in the middle of a heatwave.
