out of 5Had a flying visit to Manchester arriving at 3.30pm. First room we were given smelt of stale smoke. Staff were great when we complained & gave us an up-grade to a superior room for the inconvience. Only problem with that room was it was very cold as the heating wasn't put on until we got in room & it was very slow to heat up. Had a meal in hotel & went to see the show at the bridgewater hall. Hotel ideally situated right behind the hall. Show was good. After a quick drink in hotel bar it was bedtime. Had an early breakfast then quickly walked to station for 8.55am train home.

out of 5Hotel is in a good location to the town centre. The restaurant wasn't too bad in the hotel. The room we stayed in was average standard apart from having no window in it!.

Editor's comments: It does state on the Superbreak website that City Rooms are internal rooms with no windows.

out of 5Travel up by train -easy walk to britania hotel -first impression great old building -staff very helpfull -we just wanted to leave bags and check in later but room was vacant so booked in early and had a quick clean up before having lunch just up street-everything just clicked-a most enjoyable day.
