Sons First Time In London

A customerwho stayed at 4* Millennium Hotel London Knightsbridge in Knightsbridge wrote this review.

Stay Date: 26/11/11

Overall Hotel Rating:

5 out of 5

My son had been nominated for an award at the park lane hilton hotel and we stayed at the millenium which was perfect from arriving to leaving. The reception staff upgraded us free of charge to a club class room and even the concierge helped us get a taxi sorted to the award ceremony. He also looked after our luggage and my sons trophy the next day after we had checked out whilst we went on the city open top bus tour. The hotel was within 2 minutes of knightsbridge tube station and there is a great bar across the road.

A well positioned cental London hotel. We had a room on the 12th floor with a geat view over London. Easy access to the tube and 100 yards from harrods. The v& a museum is a good 15mins walk away, the entrance is free & well worth a visit. We ate in harrods & bistro cassis.

Short Break In London

A customerwho stayed at 5* The Cadogan in Knightsbridge wrote this review.

Stay Date: 17/04/11

Overall Hotel Rating:

1 out of 5

The cadogan was situated very conveniently for us but considering it was a 5 star hotel it had very poor facilities. No tea or coffee facilities in the room but very expensive cups of tea or coffee could be ordered. Only one bed even though we booked for 2 adults and 1 15 year old child. Grandmother slept on the settee. Breakfast was served in the room as asked but we asked for 2 cups of tea, 2 orange juices, 2 scrambled eggs, 2 portions of mushrooms and two portions of tomatoes, two hash browns, 1 sausage and 2 maple pancakes. We recieved 1 cup and saucer and one pot of tea, 1 orange juice, 1 scrambled egg, 4 tiny tomatoes and 1 thin slice of mushroom, not even a whole mushroom, we did get 2 hash browns and one sausage and 2 pancakes (that looked more like doughnuts) as asked. We also got three slices of bread and croissants but only 1 small pat of butter. At £25 per head we thought that it was very bad value for money. Would not go to again to the cadogan and i will be writing to them later this week. The visit to the theatre was excellent and it was a wonderful show and would certainly go to see that again. As this was a special birthday present to me by the family the cadogan certainly let it down.

The hotel was great and had our room ready early so we could drop off our luggage and get to the matinee in good time and have a drink. The staff were all lovely and our room was very comfortable. Our seats at the theatre were good and wicked the musical was amazing. After a good night's sleep we had breakfast at 10.30! The full english breakfast was excellent. The whole experience for myself and my daughters was one to remember. Thankyou.

Girly Weekend Away

A customerfrom UKwho stayed at 4* Millennium Hotel London Knightsbridge in Knightsbridge wrote this review.

Stay Date: 27/02/11

Overall Hotel Rating:

3 out of 5

I booked this break for my sister's 50th birthday celebration, i studied numerous hotels and packages and found the Superbreak one the most competitively priced, the return train was only 45 pounds and the theatre seats were fith row from the front. I felt i was mislead by the statement that our room was a triple executive as on arrival the room was only set up for two people with two beds, two robes, two cups etc. I contacted superbreak who then spoke to the hotel to say that they had no triple bedded rooms only a sofa bed as an extra bed, housekeeping did act straight away by making up the sofabed and providing the extras but i am sure when i reviewed the hotel it never stated that the third bed was on a sofa as i had delibrately avoided booking the hotels with only two beds and a sofa, however we still had a good weekend, breakfast on the first day was short of a few things for the full english and never got replenished until i had almost finished my breakfast.

Hotel millenium is great, friendly staff, clean rooms, good food, the only complaint was we asked for a room for 3 with 3 proper beds and had to put up with a sofa bed which wasn't too comfortable. Other than the bed hiccup we had a great time and would stay again.

Stayed at the Millenium in knightsbridge. Disappointed with this hotel compared with other Superbreak we've taken. Poor public areas and small noisy rooms. We booked 2 rooms for a family and they were 5 floors apart! Harrods was very busy, I suppose thats to be expected in the week before Christmas! But we couldn't even get a cup of coffee anywhere in Knightsbridge without having to stand up, definitely "no room at the inn"! Would not recommend a visit at this time of year.

Waited a while to be served as restaurant was heaving. Excellent ambiance mainly due to staff. Chaotic to say the least, not the place for a romantic evening but perfect for a great night out with "entertainment" provided by staff! a night to remember! Millenium hotel excellent. Service was second to none. Reception staff most helpful. Breakfast disappointing.

Overall Hotel Rating:

We travelled first class rail booked through Superbreak, very comfortable. The hotel was very well situated only a few minutes from Harrods and Hyde Park. The view from our hotel room was of Sloane Street, all the famous fashion houses on either side of the road. We travelled by London buses to Portabello market, they're really easy to use. A day ticket was around £3.80, if anyone in the company has a pensioners bus pass then they travel free. The Hyde Park Winter Wonderland was really nice with all the lights in the trees and an open air ice rink and rides for the kids great weekend.

Booked theatre and hotel for a girls' night away. The Millennium hotel is very comfortable, and has a small bar where we had good coffee, and wine later. We had a room on one of the high floors, which was quiet with a super view over the city. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The hotel is across the road from Harvey Nicholls and round the corner from Harrods; also very close to the underground. A brilliant break!.

After work, time to go out! I wanted to have an excellent dinner. Last time, in January, the restaurant was closed 'for the evening'all evenings. - here in March: no further explanation, just closed! But nothing had been changed: posters with seafood & excellent meat and so on were still there. The first time I came to the hotel was in 1995 - what a difference!

Great location, ideal for Harrods, Harvey Nichols etc, several good bars/restaurants nearby. Room was quite small, but was beautifully decorated and had everything needed,e.g. hairdyer, tea & coffee making facilities. Very friendly, helpfull staff. Would definetly stay again.Phantom of the Opera - second time we have seen this show and we throughly enjoyed it. had seats in the royal circle. Some of the view was obstructed because of the overhanging seats above.Would suggest seats in the stalls.

Visiting St Pancras Station was a real treat - next visit to catch Eurostar!Chinese Warrior Exhibition was amazing but we still need to visit China. King Tut wasn't written up well but was simply beautifully presented and a wonderful exhibition. We loved it. Great to see family too and we went to Spam-a-lot as an antidote to the culture and were not disappointed. Just like a great pantomime. Millenium Knightsbridge couldn't have been better, so convenient and extremely comfortable with a great breakfast served in its lovely restaurant. All in all we had a great break in London, back home in Cumbria it all seems a long way away and we are already thinking about our next visit. Thank you for the voucher we received on our return. Let's hope we can use it.

When we went to check in at 2pm to the hotel. We could not check in until after 2.30pm. Staff stated they were full the previous night. I feel these should not affect the following days check in. We had no toiletries in the bathroom and have to ask a chambermaid for some, she was extremely rude in her manner. There was a fire alarm at approx 11pm on the first evening. The staff were totally disorganised and even though it was a false alarm we were left standing in our pyjamas for over a 1 1/2 hours.I was very disappointed at this hotel, and considering it was a 4* hotel and quite expensive. I felt it was poor value for money.

Editor Notes:

Editor’s Comments: Hotel check in times are generally from 2pm, however if a guest from the previous night occupies the room longer than the check out time, the room will still need to be serviced for the next guest. My weekend at the Millenium Hotel in Knightsbridge was excellent. The 4* atmosphere made our stay very enjoyable. It is central to all the sights with tube travel from Knightsbridge and Sloane Square.Buckingham Palace and Houses of Parliament are all worth a visit and the tour guide gave plenty of information on the history of London. In all a visit to London is an experience not to be missed. We saw the show Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre. All singing and dancing and full of humour. An excellent night out

Just to say we had a great time last week in London, especially finding a small pub on Sloane Street in the Knightsbridge area, called the Gloucester. just a small place but reasonably priced and a very good menu and the food was excellent.

We stayed at the Millennium Hotel in Sloane Street and stayed three nights, taking in the musicals Grease and Joseph, some shopping in Harrods and a walk in Hyde Park. The hotel was top-notch - quality room, attentive staff, terrific continental breakfast. Harrods was a magnificent shopping experience. All-in-all, my wife and I had a wonderful time.

A Short London Break

The main aim of our trip was about Fashion which we saw in abundance in the Knightsbridge location including the V&A New York Fashion exhibition. The hotel was perfectly situated but unfortunatly our stay was almost spoiled by rowdy behaviour at night in the hotel presumably drunk behaviour by residents in a nearby room. There was shouting and banging which we should have complained about at the time. Our choice of venues however was excellent and everything was of very high quality even outstanding.

We had a fantastic afternoon watching the time trials and the atmosphere in Hyde Park was brilliant. It was great to see it 'in the flesh' rather than just on the television.Harrods, Harvey Nicolls and other designer shops, all just a few hundred yards from our hotel. The hotel was one of the best I have stayed in - it is such a shame that the service and food in the restaurant let the hotel down.

Best place to go to is Harrods, unlike the Tower of London, no enormous queues to get in.Open top buses also good value for money, though they seem expensive.

Mum has expressed an interest in seeing Billy Eliott the musical. My three sisters and I arranged the trip for her birthday and booked the Millennium Hotel, Knightsbridge for one night. The hotel is very close to Harrods where a visit to the foods halls is a necessity. Sitting in The Oyster Bar sipping a glass of champagne and sampling the oysters ensured a very special afternoon was enjoyed by all.The show was excellent and topped off a fabulas day. The hotel has superb facilities and we were able to leave our bags with the concierge during the following day to enjoy more shopping.

The Cadogan is in easy walking distance of the King's Road with it's vaste range of shops. The main reason for the trip was to see a show in the West End. I left my car in the underground car park across the road from the Cadogan and took the tube - the station is within walking distance from the hotel

The hotel was such a great location , not only were the shops such as Harvey Nicholls, Harrods Zara and others around the corner. We were located on Sloane Street and a 10 min walk to the Kings Road in Chelsea . In Chelsea we walked to the Embankment and Physic Gardens saw Gordon Ramsey Restaurant and The War Museum. It truly was a great 3 days.
