out of 5Brief break in edinburgh beautiful city, friendly people, good food, and, although this hasn't always been the case north of border - great beer. Would especially recommend "halfway house", "white horse", the whole grassmarket area and "the guildford arms" in the new town. Advice would be to definitely pay a visit to the castle. I found the new parliament building bizarre but it takes all sorts. Too cold and wet to walk to arthur's seat - next time!.

out of 5I've travelled to this area before but this time we got a 'little ' lost. It was all well worthwhile though because the hotel was lovely and we paid a great price for it.The locality was quaint with a number of excellent eating places on the doorstep. Superbreak could update the driving directions to the hotel...Woolworths went out of business 4 years ago.
