out of 5The travelodge tadcaster is not suitable for visiting York if you have small children and no car. Buses are reasonably priced however on the return journey you need to cross a very busy dual carriageway - there are no crossings. Taxis are expensive £24.00 each way.

out of 5The best part of our break was the public transport arrangements in York. We used the Park & Ride system which was very efficient and saved us the hassle of trying to find a parking space in the city. It is very reasonably priced too. The Road Train from the Railway Museum to the Minster was good value too.The only drawback to our visit was the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke in the bedroom. The staff were very obliging and found another room where the smell was not quite so overpowering.
