out of 5Enjoyed a good week-end break in York. Cold and damp in february - but still enjoyable. Travel by train from Dundee. Just as well we booked seats as both trains were very busy. The hotel room was small and basaic - bit ok. I've slept in cleaner rooms and more comfortable beds - but otherwise it was adequate. Just a few mins walk from the station - and a few minutes more to get to the centre.

out of 5We went on a 2 day trip to york for my husband's 60th birthday. We visited the national railway museum as he is a rail fanatic and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. We also visited the city and was very impressed. 2 days were not enough and we would certainly go back again. We stayed at the travelodge, micklegate which was minutes from the train station and all the attractions. The staff were friendly, the room comfortable and clean and we would certainly use it again.

out of 5The travel lodge was very easy to find. Got there are 2pm but were not able to check in until 3pm unless we paid extra. Was not impressed with that. Having been to york at least 7 times this visit was to chill out and enjoy the surroundings. We did visit the castle museum which was excellent. We shopped and ate in very good restaurants. Very relaxed and quick visit. Using the train meant there was no worries about driving back to scotland.
