Travelling to Manchester

Manchester Overview

With an airport, many motorway links and a handful of train stations, getting to the city is easy.

By Rail

For Manchester city centre Deansgate, Oxford Road and Piccadilly will put you in the heart of it all. Meanwhile, travelling to Manchester’s outer areas, Salford, Stockport, Oldham and the Airport all have their own stations, with most changing at Piccadilly in the city centre.

By Road

If you are travelling to Manchester from the North, the M61/M66/M62 all lead to the M60 which circles the city and takes you into the centre and outside areas. Meanwhile, from the South the M6/M56 all lead to the M60.

By Air

Manchester Airport is just off the M56 and close to the city. The airport also has its own train station which is easily accessible from Piccadilly. There are many airport hotels in the surrounding areas of Hale, Altrincham and Stockport, often with inclusive parking available.
