A Treat For The Kids

out of 5We work long hours and find it difficult to spend quality time with the kids at home. They are different ages so want to do different things. We decided to just book a night away without telling them until we were going. The Wynnstay Hotel was perfect, a room for us and a room for the kids it was nicely decorated in keeping with its era. We ate in the wilson restaurant. The food was exceptional and cooked to perfection and the waiter (luigi) was excellent making sure everything was just right. Breakfast was again of a high standard with a wide range of choice and the staff were polite and atentative there was a pool which the kids enjoyed after breakfast and a spa which us adults should have taken advantage of but were just busy preparing for our visit to the victorian village on our way back home. The victorian village was great for all ages with plenty to see and do. We all enjoyed seeing how people lived and dressed in the victorian times. The children could change today's money into old money and were able to spend it in the victorian shops there was a small old fashioned fayre at the end of the village with coconut shy's and rides etc. There were different trades to see such as candle making, blacksmiths, there was an old victorian pub with people singing an old chemist with different remedies on show. All these places had staff dressed in victorian clothing and on hand to answer any questions on that period.
