We stayed at the Whitewater Hotel near Windermere which was lovely and about 10 minutes drive from the lakes. The room, hotel facilities and staff were lovely. We relaxed in the pool and jacuzzi after a day of sight seeing, before having a really enjoyable evening meal at the hotel. We would throughly recommend visiting the area and hotel.

Relaxing Weekend in the Lake District

Stay Date: 27/06/08

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

We just needed time to relax and this hotel provided everything we needed. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were advised on arrival that it was wise to book a meal if we wanted to eat in the restaurant, which we did. It would have been good to be advised that we also had the option to eat in the Fisherman's Bar downstairs in the hotel, which we did on the second night. Both meals were lovely but the restaurant was obviously much more expensive. The hotel and the surroundings were great if you want to walk or just relax and fulfilled all our needs for our weekend. If you are looking for some evening entertainment however we would recommend booking into a hotel ten minutes drive away at Lake Windermere.

Taking in the Great Outdoors

A customerfrom Birminghamwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 10/02/07

Overall Hotel Rating:

3 out of 5

We chose a Winter break in The Lakes to take in some of the great outdoors, without having to fight through hoardes of Summer tourists. The National Trust provides information on walks and places on interest throughout The Lakes, and their easily spotted whilst driving around in the area. We just parked up, walked and enjoyed getting some fresh air in our lungs for a change.Alternatively, Keswick is a great town to visit for shopping, lunch or relaxing in a cafe. It has a real 'outdoorsy' feel with some interesting tourist attractions.
