out of 5The hotel was welcoming and staff were excellent. However, the room we were allocated was close to an extraction unit which ran all night and disturbed sleep constantly. We revisited several places we had been before, so we knew what to expect. Nothing had changed, either for worse or better! except we decided to go to Weymouth on the day before the carnival, and it was far too busy and noisy for us. Very exciting for chidren and youngsters, but not our scene. Must remember to avoid that week another time. We had some good food and pleasant service, and can thoroughly recommend the Red Lion in Poole. Do not be put off by the first glimpse of it. When you go round to park and go inside, it is modern and stylish. The food was excellent, with just enough difference to make it an adventure. Will definitely go again.

out of 5Fantastic view from our bedroom (which was huge and had panoramic windows) across the bay to Brownsea Island.Breakfast a little disappointing on day 1, but much better the next day. We booked to have the "seafood themed" dinner on the first evening, which turned out to be very disappointing, particularly the main course. You may find better eating out locally.We decided to have dinner at the hotel - there didn't seem to be anywhere else locally without getting the car out anyway - and the food was very nice and reasonably priced. Sadly the breakfast next morning was luke warm, greasy and there was little choice by the time we went in at around 9am, even though breakfast continued until 10am. Overall, a reasonable break though.

out of 5In spite of poor weather we found plenty to do. Visit to Monkey World was delightful and easy to find.Tank Museum was undergoing building works and we were not able to see it at it's best but I am sure the improvements will be worth it.Hotel was very good and we even had a fourposter bed!!Food was well prepared and the service was excellent
